The only things on your list that are cheap is clothing, and "knock off" football shirts.

You might want to consider bringing some spirits via duty free, cigs from home, or duty free.

Lets see what other members say.

aarmitage,

As a rough guide (70 Baht to the UKP):

Cigs - 75-85p for 20 (although I prefer to bring mine in duty-free (GBP60-70.00 for 1,000)

JW Black - GBP11.00 for .7 litre

Gordons Gin - GBP6.50 for .7 litre

T-shirts (Polo style) - GBP2.00 each

Footie shirts - GBP3-4.00 each (decent quality)

Electrical goods vary greatly - last thing I bought was a Panasonic rice cooker - GBP7.00

You'll obviously have to take into account plastic tuk-tuks, wooden frogs, coconut monkeys, "designer" sunglasses, fruit-shaped candles and a heap of other crap that you will no doubt end up buying.

Tom

Hi,

Cigs. unless you only smoke one kind, cheaper to buy in Pattaya, 30B to 40B per 20, if you use loose tobacco there are places where you can get it dirt cheap. If you are travelling by Emirates, buy in Dub. where most brands are cheaper. I got 50 King Edward Imperial cigars, 1Litre Glen. and 200 cigs. for £20.67, 1 L. Glen. in MAN. was over £20.

Spirits, Again cheaper in Patt. unless you drink malt whisky. I drink Glenmorangie, I was

unable to get a malt in LOS, but I found the cheapest in Dub. In Patt. you can get 0.7L Barc. Vod. Gin rum around 350B to 400B, local Whiskey 170B

Footballshirts cheapest I found was in the Tuesday & Friday market at 90B each.

As for bringing in the likes of 1000 cigs i'd be careful as the limit is 200.

Clothing, bring minimum, dirt cheap.

Electricial goods, Why.

What day will you be travelling to LOS as I am going from Man.(Eng) the 2 July for 8 weeks, I arrive in BKK 3/7/04 and will be staying in Bangkok for 1 night and heading for Patt. on the 4/7/04 :P

Cheers Doug

I don't think there is a place on the planet were cigarettes are more expensive than the UK.

As for electronics goods try

www.dabs.com

www.simply.co.uk

pixmania.com

or you can try tottenham court road in London.
