Travel agents, at least in US, don't get compensated by airlines anymore and have been forced to either charge hourly fees, flat fees, or some other way to make money. I am a cheap charlie too, but they are performing a service and are for profit.

 

That said, this place advertises a double money back guarantee if you find a cheaper price elsewhere.

In the States, I like to use Angel Travel for my tickets. I guess their specialty is travel to Asia. If you don't see what you're looking for, you can always email them and they reply quickly.
