I had extensive dental work done at Bangkok Pattaya hospital and am very pleased with the result.  I had four root canals and a crown that required a post being placed in the remainder of the tooth.  The work was painless and I had the undivided attention of the dentists and assistant during the treatment.  I specialist worked on the root canals and an American educated (Cornell) did the crown work.  Much below the US price but maybe a bit more than the one man operations.

  :beer

I really appreciate all this input. For the past two years, I've been trying to get up the nerve to have some dental work done when I'm in Pattaya. After reading about your experiences, I feel much better about it and I'm scheduling an appointment when I'm next in town. Thanks!!!

Do it Slobbert! I had some work done a few months ago up at the hospital. Cost me a 1/4 of what it would have done in the UK. Gorgeous dentist too who sang most of the time!...and a lovely assisstant holding my hand :-)

A very pleasant and cheap experience. Will never go to a dentist in the UK again unless it's an emergency.

For what its worth, when I move to Pattaya I intend to get my teeth fixed, which will include two implants and extensive correctional work including a brace, you know how bad English teeth are. I have been researching the issue and talking to expats and BPH seems the way to go. As someone else said this is NOT an area you want the lowest quote for.

Also planning laser eye surgery and again BPH seems the way to go.

No personal experience but thats my research.

Hi I will be in Pattaya in mid september and wondered if anyone knew of any good dentists, I am looking to get laser whitening and old silver coloured fillings changed to white ones, I have found one in BK, but lots of people tell me Pattaya will be much cheaper, Thanks :livid

i got mine lasererd about 10 weeks ago by the beauty house ,its on 2nd road facing soi6 next door to a big sauna place ,

they charged me 12000.bht and was told all whiteening for an adult mouth was the same.( i was demanding mine to be cheaper as some are gold and porcelain ones with bridges etc,, )

it took about 45 mins ,painless ,and was very pleased with result....

the dentist also told me that i had a hole in one tooth and i needed a filling,

i thought she was just scaming me and after a few quid ,,, well 10 weeks later and im in agony waiting for an appointment to see my regular dentist,,

i now have full trust in my new thai dentist,,,,, :P

As it turns out, Delta Dental claims that, except in an emergency, they will not cover any dental procedures out of the USA. Phuck them - I am going to change insurance companies.

My Blue Cross Medical PPO coverage, on the other hand, is more then happy to re-imburse for medical services in Thailand.

I am still intending to visit a dentist in Pattaya in November.
