We got the passport (easy), we got the tourist visa (hard work), now all we need is the airline ticket. Been to LOS loads of times myself (in the UK now) but never booked a flight the Widdershins way, ie Bangkok-London return. Looking at someone like Thai or EVA in September. I guess I could probably save money with a Thai travel agent, so can anyone recommend a reliable one? Or would I be better paying a bit extra for the assurance of ABTA, ATOL, etc? Thanks in advance for any tips.

I got my girlfriend's ticket here in March

http://www.npkpattaya.com , in Soi Pattayaland 1

The ladies working there were exceptionally helpful and we got a good deal with Emirates as they had just started the Dubai-Glasgow route.

I tried e-mailing several Pattaya travel agents from the UK, this company were the first to reply, quoted the best fares on various airlines, and got my business.

I visited the office in person on several occasions, and the ticket was issued the same day as I paid for it.

Price competition between agents is fierce, so shopping around will not save too much.

I used a travel agent on 2nd Road next to the Tourist Police Station. They print the ticket there. They were cheaper then booking with United in BKK.

Eric,

All Seasons Travel, South Pattaya Rd opposite friendship supermarket have a good reputation among the Aussie ex-pats. They looked after me ok. In saying that, if you decide to fly Thai and all other things being equal, book through the Thai office on corner of Beach and North Pattaya Rd. If paying by credit card,

(Diners in my case), they do not put a surcharge on the price for using credit card.

Information correct as of 4th June 2004.

Eric, well done on the visa.

I would go for a direct flight to LHR with EVA or Thai. the travel agent along by Honey Lodge near the entrance to Walking Street is very efficient.

Not sure, but, you might need a Transit visa for your lady if you stop off enroute.

Buy a small rice cooker in Big C and find out your nearest Thai grocer shop. We used to go to China Town in Soho- Good luck

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to update this a little, I ended up booking with NPK in Soi Pattayaland 1, and I'd agree with everything TFC says. They were quick, friendly, very efficient, and I'd recommend them to anyone. All set now!!! :D
