  2. Donate it to the orphanage, and borrow it when you return.
  3. No to be compared to the Sails, Northshore or -Point, however, several boardmembers have bought into Jomtien Beach Residence Close to the beach on Jomtien Soi 9, and managed by The Residence Garden
  4. You could try http://www.jomtienbeachresidence.com
  5. I am going to N.Y. next week, and have not booked a hotel yet. Does JFK airport have a hotel sales counter?? Can anyone recommend a good reasonable priced hotel in the Manhatten area?? Thanks
  6. So true. It could be interesting to know: how many members have actually ended up paying for the abuse of their credit card??? No hearsay or 3rd persons story please. But looking forward to hear from genuine members who ended up paying for abuse of their card.
  7. Just don't forget to cancel your first reservation. If everybody showed up as booked, there would be no need for hotels to a charge deposit.
  8. What and how are hotels charging for high speed internet in room connection? Do you feel there is much difference between 128 or 256 Kbps? What would you consider to be a reasonable charge?
  9. If you dont mind excessive noice, go ahead and book Natural Park. If you prefer a minimum of peace and quiet, stay far away from Natural Park. I live in the condo next door. On most Saturday evenings they roll out Thailands largest loudspeakers on their terrace. Sound tests are carried out from 3 pm with every employee screaming their favourite karaoke songs out of tune. At 7pm the mainly Thai guests take over. Yesterday ( thursday) 8 tour busses with Thai staff from Panasonic arrived. Last night our building foundation was shaken, as more than 300 drunken, out of tune, Northeastern karaoke singers were fighting for the microphones. Loudspeakers were switched off at 11 pm. Singing continuied through the night. Sanuk indeed. This morning, the 8 busses rev'd their engines and blasted their horns for about an hour before leaving. Stay far away from that place.
  10. Apparently there has been some bugs in The Residence Garden Booking form on these pages. The hotel is normally very quick in answering any requests. If you do not receive a reply, resend your request direct to the hotel at: ottesen@loxinfo.co.th
  11. I tried to register on priceline.com, but it seems I need to live and have a tel number in the US to do that. Is that so, or have I missed something?
  12. The server has been down for about a week. Probably got wet during songkran. Pete is working on it, and it should be fixed soon. Meanwhile contact The Residence Garden directly on email ottesen@loxinfo.co.th And ask for the FLB rate
  13. FLB rate at The Residence Garden is 1,350 Baht. Surcharge 250 Baht per night applies from 20th Dec - 5 Jan. if rooms available. Deposit is charged during busy season, as a substantial percentage of bookings through FLB site unfortunately fail to show up and do not have the courtesy to cancel. 2000 Baht Cash deposit upon checking in, is charged only if the guest does not have a credit card.
  14. I have reservations at both hotels. At Sabai Lodge I have reserved a mini suite and at Pattaya Center I have reserved the junior suite. I am looking for opinions from anybody who may have stayed in either one of these suites. My opinion is, that................ Unfortunately, the above is a valid reason for hotels to demand a deposit. At least have the courtesy for the sake of other members, to cancel the reservation you have no intention of honouring
  15. "Private Dancer" by Stephen Leather should be on the list of compulsary reading for new visitors before arriving in Thailand. Also, "Don't leave your brain at home" could be a great title for a new best seller
