  1. Which airline would you guys use to fly from BKK-Siam Reap-MNL-BKK. Will I use one airline or are 2 needed. Thanks for the help.
  2. Hello, I am thinking of staying at the Diamond City Place. I still have a couple of questions about the hotel that I couldn't find the answers to. When making a reservation did you give them your CC information? The online booking form it asks for it. I have no problem with a security deposit but feel a bit uneasy about using my CC in LOS. I read on their web sight that they have a safe available in the lobby. Is it one big safe with every body’s stuff in envelopes or individual safety deposit boxes? Also when making your reservation did you book for 2 people or 1 in order not to have a joiner fee? Or is the joiner fee a non-issue? Thank you for taking the time to help me out, Win
  3. My boss just told me today that my dates might be changing for my time off. I might not leave till July. I wish they would just figure it out. But the good news is that I might get the whole month off . so I am going to have to wait to get my ticket. Should know by next week.
  4. I never thought about that. I just figured they were all around 60k. Thanks for the tip. And yes I lost a bunch of AA miles after 18 months .
  5. EVA is $1277 all in. EVA, NW, and united are all with in $30 of each other. Guess I'll just pick the best itinerary if I cant find anything cheaper.
  6. Thanks guys, I actually read a previous post on china air 1 way. SFO-Bkk $776 BKK-SFO $677(31/1exchange rate, a guess) So its not working to well right now. I did fly China in Jan. The best rate I have found is from a travel agent in SF. $1250 all in on United. I was kind of surprised by this but I guess it’s threw a consolidator. Does anyone know of a travel agent with a contract with someone who flies to BKK?
  7. Does anyone know of any good fares SFO-BKK for mid June (9-24 but semi flexible). The best I have found are 1250-1370 depending on itinerary. Am I just going to have to bend over and take it or are there better fares out there. Any help would be appreciated. If these fares keep going up I’m not going to be able to make a trip in Jan Thanks
  8. I flew economy on China Airlines in Jan. SFO Taipei Bkk. I had herd a lot of bad things about this airline. So I was a little worried. But I thought the airline was fine. Don’t know about B class but I felt economy was about the same as all the rest. I would be happy to use them again as long as they still offer the best prices
  9. Just curious but are there places in Bangkok or Pattaya where you can rent a desk or small office that provides good Internet? It seems like this would be a good solution for people who live in an area that doesn’t have good phone lines. My first trip to LOS will be in Jan so I really don’t have a clue if this is possible.
  10. Hi, I was just wondering what kind of jobs you have that you can leave for 6 months at a time. I would come home to no job at all.
  11. Hi, I am just curious how you got so many miles. Do you fly a lot for work or just use credit cards a lot? Just curious, I’m always trying to figure out how to get more miles.
  12. When I was in Costa Rica on my last trip I was traveling with a rather large buddy. The ticket guy at Saunsa (?sp) air said they have a weight limit of 250lbs on their small domestic planes. He said if you are over 250lbs you need to buy a second seat. Then he said the flight was only 1/2 full so not to worry about it but to make sure to tell anybody that askes that he weighed 249lbs. They did ask his weight prior to bording. We said 249 and there were no more problems. I'm not sure if they would have throwen him on a scale or not if the flight was full. I did think it was strange that the weight limit was in pounds and not kilos. Guess it is all American tourists that use this service. Win
  13. Do any of you guys know if the Residence Garden offers a special price to board members on the 2 bedroom sweets. I was also wondering if you would recommend staying there on our first trip to Pattaya or do you think it would be better to stay closer to the action ? Are there any other options closer to town with 2 bedroom sweets with a central living room (party area). I would also prefer an in room safe. Thanks, Win
  14. Don't worry i'm not sending money to a BG. I work too hard for my money to just give it away.
  15. It took a few days for me to get accepted. Don't wory about it. It's worth the wait.
  16. I will check with wells fargo. I didn't even know that they offerd a credit card with miles. I bank with wells fargo so that will make it easy. Thank You, Win
  17. Does anybody know if there is a airline miles credit card that gives miles for money spent on Western Union wire transfers. I guess they would have to not consider it a cash advance This may seem weird but I make a lot of purchases threw western union from small suppliers in China that don't accept credit cards. I would like to start earning miles from them. Thanks, Win
  18. Try looking on travelocity. Use the flexible dates. I saw some on EVA for like $680 pluss tax and fees.
