Hey Guys, I'm due to fly in to BKK at 6pm on Sunday - I'm hoping the airport won't be flooded by then !!! In the meantime I've been unable to find any info on road closures etc -can anyone enlighten me on the road conditions to Pattaya from the airport? Still clear? Any advice appreciated. Cheers

Armageddon - Soi LK - huge rooms Club Blu - Soi LK - nice spot - my fave when on a budget Liquid Lounge as already mentioned Pasadena Lodge does not have a seperate entrance - have to walk through reception at night and provide id to the security guard (friendly chap though)! steveoman seems to be the man to ask ! Nice one - didn'nt know Kilkenny had separate entrance - good food there too - might try it next month - cheers !

Used Mr Toom over 50 times in the last 4 years and no problems until this year - wasn't there when I arrived at the airport 3 times in a row this year - I'm done with him - bring on Mr. T !!!

Judd - that was my buddy who stayed at Armageddon - he doesn't make things up - I saw the lumps from the bites all over him. Ask the Armageddon directly to verify the story. If I took the same stance as you I would say "Maybe Judd is the owner and trying to cover his ass" but that would be juvenile in my opinion. One of my fave Hotels - Nice rooms - very clean, fast internet, LCD TV & DVD player, quiet aircon. Rooms are not huge and bathroom is very small but very modern, Very girl friendly but insist on id. No probs with late checkout with no fee. Excellent pool. Good room service. 5 Minute walk to WS. Great value for 1250 baht currently - although LK Metropole has walk in rates of 1200 for standard room as of last week ! Deluxe and superior are exactly the same - only diff is the more expensive one faces the pool - no balconies on either. Cant help with the in room massage - never

Incredible offer from Etihad (Great Airline!) at the moment - €436 including Taxes for a return flight for flights booked before 25th May with travel out up to the end of June. Worth sharing methinks. Will head over myself for 4 nights - for that money its cheper than a weekend in Dublin !

Lol - Got to agree with Sybarite & co ! I make a visit there every time I'm in town and I've never even bought a ladydrink as the girls are so bloody miserable - no idea how they make a living as I'm not tight and enjoy buying a few drinks. Jaysus - maybe Im not a sexy man after all - or maybe theyre all lesbians ..... hmmmmm... In saying that I gotta say they regularly have a lot of cuties - Im sure other members have better luck !

Nova Platinum in Pattaya is Girl Friendly - I stayed there for a week in June. Paid 1750 for deluxe room inc breakfast - wouldnt pay any more than that but good hotel nonetheless.

My buddies always use the China Air route and I checked with them - they always get both boarding passes both ways. I fly Air France mainly but will be using Etihad next week as the timings suit me much better. Hope to use Etihad more often if the next flights go well. Did the same thing with the layover in Dubai and it was a nightmare - I know how you feel LOL Have a safe trip - hope all goes well. Cheers

Jasmine Hotel on WS (Soi BJ) provides a Laptop hire service through a local agent.

Stayed there last week for 4 days. Soft opening rates at 40% discount so I paid 2100 per night for the deluxe room. Have lots of pics I will post over the weekend - beautiful rooms - all my buddies moved in to the Hotel aswell. Highly recommended - had already stayed at the Jasmine Hotel WS and stereobar but they dont compare ! This was true Western 3.5 to 4 star - excellent quality finish, Booked peak season at full rate I was so impressed !

Stayed there last Dec/Jan - Have to say I enjoyed the accomodation and good value at peak season for 1000 baht a night. Thanks MM for following this up - LK used to be my fave Hotel but now no constant hot water and that internet pricing is just stupid ! Python - Thai Air fly direct from London Heathrow - Their Irish partner is Aer Lingus with plenty of connection options, Give yourself plenty of time in Heathrow as the transfer times can be painfully slow with heavy security. Lookup ebookers.ie or clubtravel.ie to see all of the options !

Just checked my records here - have had 6 trips in the last 9 months so things get a bit confusing ! Was my December trip last - 26th Dec to 4th Jan - paid €820 - excellent deal as I only booked on 16th Dec - was through Clubtravel.ie and I can confirm that I did NOT have to check in my luggage at Istanbul. Bang - I have nothing against Istanbul but a 5 hr layover in the airport at 4.30am has absolutely no upside !

Gulf Air shower of bastards - tried to fuck up my May trip by dumping me in Bahrain for 3 days - cancelled the flights and got on Air France - my 3 buddies then got screwed by GA on the way home - will stick with Air France from now on. Thai Air from Dub to Bangkok and Etihad seem to be quite reasonable at the moment - cheapest Ive seen is China Airlines on www.clubtravel.ie - worth a look. My 2 cents - cheers !

Flew with them from Dublin last Dec - good Airline and nice planes with decent onboard entertainment. Layover in Istanbul on the way home (5 hours) a bit of a pain but seamless tranaction with checkin/luggage and everything on time. Tried most carriers in the last 18 months - now stick with Air France - cheap enough if ya book early - otherwise expensive ! My 2 cents - enjoy !

Nice drinking bar and great attitude from the girls anytime ive been in. Not all "lookers" but can be refreshing to chat with a friendly non pushy girl with a nice smile. Good luck and see ya in a week !

Stayed in LK Metropole last week - speeds quite good on LAN connection - cost for card is 250baht for a 10 hour card - as MM says make sure u log off !!! No problems with disconnections although I had to temporarily disconnect the firewall to connect. Hope this helps ! Have a good trip ! Stayed there in May last year - great Hotel - booked for May this year ! Checkout www.scandibar.com for their rates excluding breakfast - good value if you are not a big eater and a free beer per day ! No credit card needed to confirm booking ! Just my 2 cents !

Stayed there in Sept - paid 2000baht deposit which was refunded no problem at all ! Great hotel - great service/breakfast delivered to the room until 6pm - highly recommend ! No probs with joiners - always left id at reception !Have pics if you want them !

Wopsy - i just booked flights with Turk air departing Dublin 26th Dec - now Im a bit depressed after reading your comments :-( How bad is it? Got a great price for this time of year but at what cost ??? Appreciate a heads up ! Cheers
