Dontang Beach use to be more gay than it is now. A lot of Russians in the area. I live close by and do my morning walk from police station to end and back. About 5k. 2 complete laps about 1.5 hours. Nice beach to relax under umbrella with beer, snack and book. Take my family down with no problems.

They have had advance party here for a couple of days now. Mostly navy as they dropped off the marines who make up most of cobra gold. More will be in town towards the end of the month after they finish the exercise and get 3-4 days down time. In the past they have been a good group of guys just having fun. Very polite.

I have a friend coming to Pattaya in Feb. He wants to go out on a 8+ hour sportfishing boat. He is not interested in the boats going out of Pattaya that do the line fishing for really small fish. I do not know anything about fishing in the gulf. Is this a good time of year to fish? What type of fish are being caught? Cost? I suggested to him that he may have to go Rayong to get a real sportfishing boat. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had to spend some time at Bumrungrad Hospital in BKK. This is a top notch hospital. I would not go to any other hospital. Try it first before you go somewhere else.
