  1. There seem to be so many online. Does anyone know if either the Absolute Sea Pearl or the Patong Paragon are guest freindly?
  2. Well, I've managed to get my flight changed from Bangkok to Phuket on Cathay Pacific. Arriving on the 9th, (God Willing!!!) I had planned on staying at the Marriott Resort in Pattaya. I've never been to Phuket before. I'm looking for an upper-end hotel, similar to the Marriott, near the action, guest freindly, big pool, a gym would be nice. Any ideas????
  3. Hey guys, cool it on the Sheraton thing. It's way to out of the way for what I need. I've gone and booked a terrace suite at the Marriott.
  4. I stayed at LK Renaissance last year. So so. I was thinking the terrace garden suite at the Marriott.
  5. After many stays in Pattaya, usualy at the Sabai Lodge, I've desided to go up market for my December trip this year. I'm thinking of the Marriott Resort. I know it's in a great location, and from what I have read on here, it is guest freindly. Are there any other hotels in this league that I should be considering,....great loocation, great rooms, pool, gym, and guest freindly, etc.????
  6. The noise comes from a completely new structure which I presume is a new wing. It is going up directlly between the Dolphin Pool area and the New Wing. So if you stay at the large pool, there is probably little noise. I have always enjoyed the relative quiet and privacy of the Dlophin Pool and had stayed there often in the past. By the time I moved to the LK Renaissance, nearly all the other guests that had been staying on the Dolphin Pool had moved out because of the noise as well.
  7. I was a little more pissed off about the silk shirt , whichn cost me about $400 in the States. But hey looser, I'm only reporting my experience there. If stuff like that never bothers you, then the Sabai lodge is made for you.
  8. I checked in at the Sabai Lodge for a ten day stay three days ago, but I'll be checking out tomorrow. This is my fith stay here and my last. First, beware, there is heavy construction going on as they are building a new wing. No mention of this was made when I booked my room two weeks ago. The noise starts early, 7am, and is still in full swing as I type this ay 7pm. I noticed when I checked in on Tuesday that I didn't see any faces behind the desk from my previous 5 times here. Not a good sign. Yesterday they lost a sock from the laundry I sent out. No big deal, but they were new and co
  9. Well, I'm happy to say I will be back in Pattaya in a few days, and this looks like a great addition to the scene. I can't wait to have my first beer there!
  10. Did that 800 baht include a crown?? If it did, thats a very good price.
  11. Looks great! I'll be there in a couple of weeks, and with the ever desending dollar against every currency on earth, including the baht, I will be giving freelancers a look .....something I havn't done for years. But, couple the exchange rate with increasing Bar Fines, and outrageous prices for gogo dancers and stunners, and freelancers make more sense.
  12. I need to get some work done while I'm in LOS next month, including a couple of crowns. Can anyone recomend a good, (and reasonable ), dentist in Pattaya......or should I be looking in Bangkok for this kind of work? If you've had experience with a local dentist, let me know. I get to town on May 19.
  13. Has anyone ever tryed this place. It's up near Soi 2 and the roundabout. Nice looking place from it's web site, but I'm wondering about joiner fees.
  14. I stayed a night in one of the suites a few years ago, more as a practical joke on a freind that was visiting from the States who had never been to Pattaya. It is pure over the top sleeze, but the rooms were clean and I didn't see any cockroachs. And God knows it's in the middle of the action. Don't bother with the Kitten Club.
  15. Far out ! I'll be in town that week. See you there.
  16. The Sabai Lodge right around the corner on Soi 2 is a better bet. Cheaper, girl friendly, has everything you'll need.
  17. I've stayed there 3 times. Like 99% of Pattaya hotels, it is guest friendly and no joiner fees. A good hotel, ask for a room on the Dolfin pool!
  18. I was there in December. Great food and atmosphere, but it's one of those restaurants where your bill will be 4 times more then what your paying your date for LT. For some reason this can upset the ladies, or end up having them try to get more baht out of you.
  19. Can anyone recomend a good restaurant in the Nana area? I'm not on a budget and am looking for something that has great food and a nice atmosphere.. Have read about Le Banyan on Soi 8 and Bed Supper Club on Soi 11. Anyone tried these or know about something good?
  20. Are there any places in Pattaya where wealthy Thais would go for Thai food ?? Everything mentioned so far seems aimed at western tourists.
  21. I've stayed at the Sabai Lodge 3 or 4 times now and have also seen the increase in price. I usually take a Dolphin Pool cottage, now 1850 baht. But my room was always well cleaned, room service fast, location for me perfect. In that 1800 to 2400 a night range, what else would you recomend in that area?? I tried the Hard Rock once and thought the price was ludicrus for the size of the room. The pool is important for me as I do laps everyday. Also, I like getting a Thai massage in my room every afternoon, and the Sabai Lodge has always been good at suppling that service. Still, I would like
  22. I tried the new Mantra place last night (end of beach road) and that was quite a spectacular venue with Thai, Italian, Indian food on show. The food was not actually all that awesome considering the price but a good joint to go if you want to impress the girl. I ate there on my last trip and liked it. Good food, but another place that will set you back five times what your paying your date for LT
  23. I usualy book the Sabai Lodge on the internet. They would get back to me within 48 hours.
  24. On my last trip I had booked the one bedroom suite at the LK Metropole. I took one look at it and beat a hasty retreat to my regular hotel, The Sabai Lodge, on Soi 2. It's cheaper and much nicer in my opinion. Three pools, in room safe, room service, and a friendly staff. They do monthly rates as well. Book a room on the Dolphin Pool.
