Been hearing a lot of negative buzz about this place lately. Anyone have any reports on the establishment and staff? Used to drink there a bit myself, now I'm seriously reconsidering ever going back. Thoughts?

First thing I would do is hire a couple (no BG's) of hostesses to walk around and chat with the waiting customers. Maybe offer the disgruntled ones a free drink for their patience. You don't want to loose them, you want to appease them. Even a starving pissed off customer will lighten his mood if someone acknowledges his plight. And not have a bad taste for the place and therefore return. Nothing crazy but a small draft beer or something cheap. Or have a cheap appetizers available to drop on a table when the see a customer closing in on his breaking point. Then I would watch for where

I can't speak on behalf of the treatment in the USA but in Canada any vet that checked the "vet" box on job applications always got first pick regardless of qualifications and age. Especially government positions. I had 3 uncles that I never met die overseas and I take my hat off every year in memery of them and people like you that served. Thier children, my cousins paid a price.

Have you downloaded any desktop screens lately? I have the N71 and decided to change the screen to something different than what was offered on the phone. I had the same freeze that you refer to so I reset to mfg settings and started over. Chose a different download and everythings been working fine now for the last year. Some downloads are not compatable for whatever reason. Might be worth a try before the shop keeper charges you money to do it for you.

A lot of questions from guys asking about the best time, how much to bring etc etc. One more detail you may not have considered when planning your next trip. Roll your holiday plans through a month end when the girls rents are due. They're much more eager to be barfined and a little more charming during this period. Maximize your time, it belongs to you. No definately not a enough time between layovers. Don't worry about the flight out of Van. being late departing. They can make up the time lost in flight. But the bags are a bitch to keeping up to you. They travel less distance at the airports between terminals but have a way of getting tied up on short turnarounds. Flown YVR to BKK many times and in the end I found the Vancouver/Narita/Bangkok connections the best all around. (Air Canada, Star Alliance) And you arrive early enough in BKK to still have a good day and take your time getting to Pattaya. AirCan may be a little more expensive

Can get the novelty plastic ones almost anywhere. The pro series can be found through the boxing clubs. Prices are all pretty much the same as anywhere. Thai's also have internet so they know the global market value. Thai Kombat Group at Darapan 3 Kaotalo Soi 8 - 93/123 Moo 11 is a good place to start. Not promoting them but they seem like decent guys there. A good place top start but have a look around. You'll meet some good people in the process.
