  1. You are much better off flying from BKK to Krabi on Air Asia. 2300 baht round trip is a steal! Plus it only takes an additional hour and 15 to drive to BKK instead of Udapao (sp). And you will save time and money flying into Krabi rather than Phuket. In Krabi you should check out Railay Beach. It can only be reached by longtail, and it supposed to be heaven. Going there myself next month. After much research I would recommend Sunrise Tropical Resort. It gets rave reviews! With Asiarooms.com you can get it for $72 or the deluxe for $92 (which includes outdoor shower, that is suppose
  2. Nice Review! I hated Sabai Lodge (Wing), even though everybody seems to praise it (have no idea why!). So I'd like to try this place next time. How can I find the best rate? And which type of room is the best value?
  3. I know China Airlines is pretty crappy, but I have no problem with them. And I love the flight times and short layovers LAX-BKK. It's usually an easy choice for me, because they are the cheapest. However Eva is slightly cheaper now, and so I'm trying to decide. The one thing I don't like about Eva is that I will arrive in BKK at 2am instead of 1AM with China. Another concern about Eva is that I'm sure the flights will be completely full with this new special. On the other hand, China may not be as full as usual because of Eva's special. And does anybody know about the planes? The
  4. Planning on spending a week there next month. Any recommendations for hotels and things to do?
  5. I'm planning on staying here for 3 nights. Any experiences? Tid bits of information? Thanks---meatjoy
  6. Stayed here a couple weeks on my last visit. The rooms are huge and emaculate, with a great asian style. However, I'm going to give Soi 2 a go next time. --meatjoy
  7. Thanks Upena, I think you've already talked me out of it... How about Grottino? Where would you suggest 1000-2000 baht price range all things considered? Thanks again---
  8. Anybody have anything bad to say about this place. I'm thinking of staying here on my next trip. I read on their website that they give an exclusive walking map for hotel guests. Does anybody know what this is about, and what places they mention? I imagine the Thermae, but what else? Thanks--meatjoy
  9. Been to Pattaya many times, but after much review, I think I'm going to try the Sabai Inn this time. I like that part of town bette, seems reasonably priced and many good recommendations. My only concern is about the beds. Somebody reported they were rock hard. This is a definate deal breaker! Can anyone in the know comment on this? And if I'm not interested in swimming is the Sabai Lodge worth the extra money? Thanks, meatjoy
