  1. Difficult times? If it is such a nice place why is it having difficult times?
  2. I'm thinking of staying here too. I did a search and didn't find anything. Anybody stayed here?
  3. Haroldshand, thanks for the info. How far of a walk is it to LK Metro? And is there a foodmart or 7/11 close? What about restaurants? I can handle being a distance from the ladies, but not these other things. And what about the baht buses? Thanks again. ---meat
  4. I'm thinking about staying at this place. Has anybody had any experience here? I've seen very positive reviews, but my only concern is that it is out of the way. Would I be better off in the Soi LK metro area?
  5. Mulphy, so you are saying I should jump on Keerati at 850 baht instead of Thai Archer or the new hotel (Paradise?)? Do you know the introductory rates at the new place? Wish I could stay at the Rockhouse... But as you know it's full. cheers---meat
  6. To each his own, but I would not recommend this area. Sure you are "in the middle of the action", but it's easy enough getting here. What's the point of staying here? I'd rather stay somewhere quieter and not have to be haggled by women every time I want to go to 7/11, or take a look around. Just something to consider...
  7. I want to stay in the Soy Bukao/LK metro area in late August for 15 nights. Metro Apartments are full as well as The Rockhouse. Keerati quoted me 650 for small room and 850 for medium during this time. Does this include any weekly rate discount? Are the small rooms adequate, or should I pay the extra 200 baht a night? Furthermore, I really don't care about having room service or a pool. Can I find a better deal in the area, now that my first 2 options have sold out. Thanks a lot, ---meat
  8. Fortune? I'm looking in the 10-20K baht area. With the focus on bang for the baht.
  9. I'm planning on staying in the Pattaya/Jomtien area for 6 months. I want something nice, but I don't want to pay a fortune. Anybody have any good recommendations. Just looking for best overall value considering any and all factors. Thanks, ---meat
  10. Thanks Alan, but how can I obtain a Non Imm O visa in the states? Don't I have to have ties with a business in Thailand among other things? ----meat
  11. I can get a double-entry tourist visa in the U.S. This will allow me 6 months in LOS. But then what do I do? Is it possible to get another tourist visa from a neighboring country? Or will I have to live somewhere else for 3 months?
  12. I've checked out all of the information on this subject, but I'm still confused. If I get a tourist visa in America before I leave, I know this will allow me 90 days (with one visa run). But after the 90 days is over, can I get another tourist visa in a neighboring country? And what about a double-entry tourist visa (180 days), how can this be obtained in the US, what about neighboring countries? Thanks again...
  13. I'm 40 years old and want to live in Thailand for 3 years. Is this going to a problem with the new rules? Can I pull this off? Any help is greatly appreciated...
  14. Yes, she has a visa and can pay cash if need be....
  15. I'm looking for a one way ticket for my tg BKK-LAX in mid June. Should I act right away to save money? And can anyone refer me to a good travel agent for this? Thanks

    Netbank

Does anyone have any experience with netbank? I'm just using it to get an ATM card and send it to my wife's family. Here are the advantages as I see them: *free checking account (no minimum balance required) *no ATM fees *free and easy to transfer money from my existing bank account They said the only fees I would incur would be from the bank in Thailand. Does anybody know this amount? And is one bank better than the other?
  17. Can anybody give me an idea of what I should expect to pay? And can I get any recommendations? Cheers. --meatjoy
  18. I've flown with Air Asia 6 times, and everytime the flights have been 2 hours late. And my girlfriend tells me upwards of 90% are delayed. International flights might be different.
  19. 1200 Baht to Chiang Mai! Can't get a taxi to Pattaya cheaper than that! It's a great deal, but expect a delay. My girlfriend works for the airline and there's always a delay! They should just push back all there flight times 2 hours and they'd be on time. A few months ago I flew with them to Chiang Rai for only 99 Baht plus tax.
  20. I've stayed many places, but I'm looking for the best value. I can't stand staying on Soi 7 or 8, near the action. I the Soi 2/3 area. Is the location for the LK Mansion OK? Are there decent restaurants nearby? Are catching the Baht trucks a hassle? Any complaints about this place? The price is damn good, and it looks nice. I've stayed at MANY other places b4, but still haven't found my haven...
  21. What's the best deal this summer? Do you think it will be worth waiting until after Labor Day? Not looking forward to returning to cattle class after Evergreen Deluxe on my last trip... Thanks..
  22. I spent the extra $200 for the deluxe seats and I'm already regretting. After I purchased the seats, I found no window or aisle seats were available LAX-TPE. This means I will have people on both sides of me for 14 hours. I think I'd rather have a coach window or aisle seat. If I arrive early to the airport do you think I have a good chance to have this seat changed? And does anybody know if this will be a newer or older plane?
  23. Have any of you guys flown with this airline within Thailand? The prices are ridiculously cheap. Can fly to Chiang Rai from BKK for less than 1000 baht. And to Krabi for about 1500. Is there a catch? I've heard their can be lengthly delays. Anybody experienced this?
  24. Yip, same aircon... I think you can find a better value elsewhere...
