  1. As mentioned, you have to consider lockdowns and other going ons (I was here for the coup.) Lockdown in a 28 sq.m and I'd be a mental case for sure (or more so.) So I'd be happy to pay extra for the high floor, the square meters and the ocean view. Right now the rents are pretty attractive (if the listings on hipflat are accurate.) Part of the reason I'm pulling the trigger on making the trip now rather than later is cause I'd like to take advantage of selection/lower rates.
  2. The baht bus is the greatest transportation system ever invented. Plan is to settle down in Jomtien though, so two issues come to mind: they don't (usually) go down all the way to the seafood places and it's even harder coming back, and if you do go into Pattaya you have to negotiate that intersection on foot to get on the Jomtien-bound buses and I've had issues with that in the past. Otherwise, perfect. Plan is Big-C delivery for most stuff, Lazada for the electronics and 7-11/night market for everything else. More than enough nightlife for me in those sois. Well, at least th
  3. Thanks for the good feedback. I'll start looking by myself in earnest tomorrow, then see if I need to resort to a realtor. I don't mind paying a one-time fee, but obviously padding the rent is something I'd like to avoid. Will report back whether it's success or failure.
  4. Hey, thanks for the reply. Tried to send you PM, but it looks like it's gone? Maybe because I'm new user I'm blocked? Anyways I'm already here. As I tried to state in PM, this new Pattaya isn't to my liking. I want something more like how it was when I was here years back, and east Pattaya sounds like it fits the bill.
  5. For example, is there a good realtor who speaks English and specializes in East Pattaya? Is there a good complex I should visit to scope out units? Do I just need to walk around the area looking for places for rent? My main concerns are: security, and ability to get good Internet connection (TTT?). Price should be right, but I can go up to 30K if there's value in return. Unfurnished is preferable actually, but am willing to consider all opportunities. Thanks.
