  1. Hi SF, Thanks for the tip about the beach road entrance. Kleyshav sent me a pm and he has the same condo as me so as he is flying out tomorrow I'll find out if it is legit before I go! I must say all the contact I've have with the owner has been good so I'm hopeful. In fact I have also booked a 2nd condo for a mate who is going over a week into my trip. The 2nd condo is a friend of the owners. The location looks great and I've been past it a few times without taking much notice of it before.
  2. You guys are getting me worried - if it's too cheap I hope it's not a scam. I've paid up front using paypal! I'll ask if he is ok with me posting his details on here. If it does turn out to be a scam I'll definitely post his details on here!
  3. View Talay 6 one of the chain of VT condos. It is in central Pattaya between Soi 9 & 10 between 2nd road and beach road. I think there are 27 floors so it is quite big.
  4. Planning a trip early May and thought I would try a condo for a change. Been offered a place in VT6 for 500Baht a night. I've heard there could be some noise due to building work. Any feedback or comments on VT6? Thanks
  5. £298.50 with Turkish Airlines in May this year.
  6. Just got back from 2 weeks staying at the Residence garden. I've stayed there 6 times now and always enjoy it. On this trip I bought a couple of watches from Sarah - a Rolex Oyster and an Omega Professional better quality ones that cost 4K Baht total. When I got back to the UK I couldn't find them and couldn't remember packing them. I emailed the RG to see if they had found them but didn't really expect any joy but within an hour I had a reply saying they had found them As a mate of mine was still there they gave them to him and he brought them back to the UK for me. Thumbs
  7. Mine was also Turkish at £298.50 in May this year
  8. Hi Jacko - The onward boarding cards were issued BUT you still have to go through the transit desk where they just look at the card. On the outward leg it only took about 5 minutes to do this but on the return there was a queue and I had to get a security stamp first as I was flying to Heathrow (?) this was done close by the transit desk. Total time to get through was about 20 minutes so still not too bad. My connection times were 1 hr out and 2 hrs return.
  9. I flew in last week and there is a medical form you MUST fill in and hand to the immigration people with your passport. If you don't have the form you WILL be sent back to get one and start queuing all over. The forms were being handed out just before immigration or on the desk before immigration. Very simple form - who are you, where from, what flight, do you feel ill, what countries have you visited recently. I suspect if you put down Mexico you may be delayed... For me it took no longer than previous times to get through but I saw lots of people without forms get sent back!
  10. Got back today. The flight back was good with a 2hr stopover in Istanbul. Only problem was the airport food & drink places would only take £ notes and give change in Turkish or euro so i bought a can of cola on my credit card! The istanbul to LHR leg was a 777 on the return trip so even better. Overall for the price I would definitely use again.
  11. I booked this and only got charged 298.50 for the return trip (plus a fiver credit card fee) just checked my card statement and it is 303 as expected. Not sure why it tried to charge you twice? Flew over last week and the LHR to Istanbul leg (4 hours) was a bit cramped on a 321 but the Istanbul to BKK leg (8.5 hours) was on a 777 with plenty of room and good IFE. The transit time in Istanbul was only 1.5 hours enough time to stretch your legs use the loo and get a quick drink. I thought it was a great deal! I fly back tomorrow (Tuesday) at 23.35 I'll update about the return trip once
  12. Just got an email from Qatar with this deal (although £356 but what's £2) Some dates in April not valid - presumably school hols.
  13. Flew back on 4th Nov after 2 weeks in Pattaya. Visited the PBG every day with fiends and tried many dishes off the menu both Thai & farang never had a bad meal. Picked up a FL with help from one of the serving girls - "Lady over there likes you"...had an enjoyable time with her but the next day and picked up a different girl in the PBG and ended up staying with her most of the holiday. PBG was busy on some of the nights but always found a table and the service time was always good. Thanks for the great bar!
  14. I stayed there for 2 weeks until 4th Nov and there is still roadworks going on. The road is covered in sand mainly due to the rains. The noise wasn't a problem though, the biggest pain was trailing sand from your shoes into your room. I'd still recommend staying there.
  15. I just got back from 2 weeks in pattaya and visited the PBG a number of times. I enjoyed it every time and being English I tried the Fish and chips which went down well. Music choice and level was great, service was good - I was there one day when you had the problem with the new computer system - no problem for me though. I assume there are some signs on order to inform us customers what the various other bar areas are - one looked like it is for cocktails? Another for food? The biggest problem you have is getting the customers that have to run the gauntlet of the girls trying to get t
