  1. If I understand correctly, deleting a folder won't make any difference. Photobucket limits how many times the pictures in your account have been accessed (basically); if that number of times has been exceeded then you have to wait until next month. Note that "next month" is the day after tomorrow. However, you could always just make another account, then that account will have the same bandwidth limit as the other one, effectively doubling your bandwidth allowance for free. Fook knows why they limit you given that you can do this.
  2. Hope you got the result you wanted, mate! Great. I'll be able to submit the graphics for that new line of toilet roll I've been planning. See you tonight!
  3. Should be a great night. Hope a lot of adventurous guys whip out their world atlas and figure out how to navigate all the way to Jomthien!
  4. Bob moved from Pattaya Tai to LK Metro because he thought that would be an opportunity to improve his business. If he had failed on Pattaya Tai he could scarcely have afforded to move I'd think. His partnership situation only became an issue when Steve Blumenthal died. Before that Bob and Steve were doing quite well. Bob had an outlet in TQ2 that also did well, but it became unsustainable after Steve died. Bob was not able to reach a suitable accommodation in TQ2 after that. Bob was one of the original partners in Shooters. His departure again was not necessarily because he was not doing well in that location. He felt he was stretched too thin. Also, Shooters was never going to be a major success in the food department regardless who had the kitchen. The location and setup of the venue was not conducive for the kind of turn-over you need to make a kitchen very profitable. IMO the issue is that Bob's business model is a tough nut to crack in this town. He wants to duplicate Texas barbecue in Pattaya at a reasonable price. Problems with that include the inferior quality of Thai beef (necessitating the use of more expensive imported beef), and limited availability of authentic-tasting ingredients which requires many of them to be imported. Thai flour also has a markedly-different consistency to that found in the US and Mexico, making the production oc tasting breads and tortillas a chore. I wish Bob all the best. He's a good guy who gave it his best shot in a tough town against long odds.
  5. It's mentioned in the linked Wiki article. Most of us have heard it referred to as a "ghost chili".
  6. I one time ate a habanero pepper. It was like chewing on a hot coal and my mouth burned for 3 days.
  7. Seconded. VERY good food at good prices.
  8. Found many instances on the web, virtually all say the guy was an American applying to Walmart. Example: http://www.funnyfunpages.com/walmartap.htm
  9. Naah, I've been goofing with local-area networks since the 1980s. I don't dye my hair white you know.
  10. Then one or the other end of the DHCP is not working. You should ask the tech guy where you're staying to check things out. Good luck.
  11. No worries, mate. See you soon.
  12. Still a while yet. You might have to repair the connection to get the IP address to be assigned. Also, you can check if you're acquiring an IP address: - Right-click the wireless network icon in the task bar (BTW, make sure that your radio is on, and check that there is not a red "X" next to the icon). - Select "Status" - On the window labeled "Local area connection status" click the "Support" tab. It should say something to the effect "Address assigned by DHCP". Compare the assigned IP address with the IP address of the default gateway. They should look similar, most likely the first three fields will be the same. If this is not the case then your computer did not have an address assigned by the network. To attempt to force this to happen, you can repair the connection (right-click the connection icon and select "repair") or: - Click the "Start" button. - Select "Run..." - In the field marked "Open:" type "command" and press <Enter>. This will open a command (DOS) window. - At the DOS prompt, type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes) and press <Enter> That should renew the IP address. Again, if all else fails, get the guy back who got it working last time. Being a lazy cunt, this is what I would recommend!
  13. So typical of Microlimp to hide an important function under 23,087 layers of icons, menus, and other hoops to jump through. Cheers. How much longer are you around for?
  14. Cheers, mate.
  15. What he probably did was set the TCP/IP protocol to "automatically obtain IP address". To do that in XP: - Open the "network connections" page. Can be done either from the control panel or by right-clicking the network icon in the system tray. - Find the wireless network connection on the list, right click it, and select "options" from the drop-down menu that appears. - In the box labeled "This connection uses the following items", find the item called "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)", and double-click it. - A window will appear that is called "Internet protocol (TCP/IP) Properties". Click the "General" tab, and select the radio button labeled "Obtain an IP address automatically". - Click "OK" until you have exited everything. That should do the trick. If it doesn't, "repair" the connection as suggested above and try again. If all else fails, fetch the guy who fixed it back and have him fix it again. Good seeing you the other night BTW.
  16. Concur on the rave for this place. I've eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The second time the owner (who I know and like) came out toward the end of the evening and we got stuck into a few rounds. Good place, good food, attentive service; highly recommended.
  17. Is there a betting pool about when the building will collapse?
  18. More like frustrated. If 1Mb/s CDMA-based broadband is available here, and it was reasonably reliable, it would be a step UP from what I am presently putting up with. Yep, will do.
  19. It's a measure of my frustration over the present sorry state of the internet provided at VT1 at this time. It was down all day again today.
  20. Thanks for the replies so far guys. I do love my torrents and generally leave the computer online 24/7. Never know when the next job is gonna come! If the throughput is anywhere near 1Mb I will definitely consider it. Looks like real-world experience is relatively thin on the ground (I have this thread on two other boards too), so I might have to go to a CAT/Hutch store, ask questions and have a play. Please keep the comments coming though.
