at Lotus today the options were Nano Brand, on Sale for 780b the Nano says it plays MP4s too, but I couldn't thing of a reason why you'd have MP4 discs there was another no-name brand for 790, not on sale & the AJ Model D-181E was on sale at 1,090 AJ is supposed to play just about any disc, so it seemed like the best option the instruction manual is in English & Thai which is a plus

หางานอยู่ , jobs in LOS or abroad, just trying to make a living
StupidFucker replied to StupidFucker's topic in Expat Issues
the guy is not a seXpat or sex tourist like so many other members here, so the cost of barfines and LT/ST prices are irrelevant to him fuel costs have risen pretty dramatically since 1999 but I think that the fuel to get little miss BG to her bar on the TBF's motorbike is not so significant -

seems a good tip, thanks -
a dear friend of mine who has been working here in LOS over a decade asked me to post on his behalf the Immigration and Labor department are pressuring expats out of LOS IMHO long story short : his wages are the same now as they were in 1999, good back then, not so great now 8 years, 8 employers, and 3 types of work later he's still here, fuck knows how he pulled it off sometimes He thought he had something lined up to work over in the former Soviet Union, that fell thru thought he had a new job here in LOS where he interviewed and felt really good about it, he even knew some of the guys interviewing and other employees there (including Thai), but that fell thru as well that's been the fuckin' story of his life since 2004 so here he is at this point trying to nail something down with the last entry stamp on his one-year multiple entry visa = less than 90 days to go I suggested he try http://www.worldwideworker.com not bad, but they seem to want people who can walk on water, at least the ones in the middle East tried a few others too, not many bites on the old CV, and he redid his CV countless times with the help of friends and recruiters He doesn't need to work in LOS, He'd actually rather be on a job offshore with a rotation that would allow time off in LOS so here I am now on the asking end expat jobs out there, how to get them ? websites, phone numbers any hot agencies/recruiters out there currently ? I'd like to add that he is willing to work just about anywhere, but would prefer to stay away from places where he might encounter IEDs or RPGs if you're not comfortable posting info here, please PM me maybe your employer has a website where he could apply, don't worry he won't be ousting you from your job, LOL here's things my friend has done : Business Development Project Management Branch Manager ISO 9002 QMR (industrial products Power & Oil & Gas) 2 - 1/2 years CMMS admin (computerized maintenance management system) MRP & KPI reporting (refinery) 2 - 1/2 years Asset Register & CBM (condition based maintenance) database designer & admin Commissioning & Construction databases redesign & implementation (gas plant design & construction) 1 -1/2 years ISO 14001 QMR Project supervision - Environmental cleanup load testing supervisor logistics management - crews & equipment (oilfield services) one year Purchasing - Expediting (Refinery) one year Office Automation & Network support (broadband micro-electronics manufacture) one year Production Manager MRP system Implementation (desktop computer & ADSL modem manufacture) one year certificates : Allen Bradley PLC Agilent Vee HUET (recently expired) He's quite fluent in Thai, both spoken and written and has been in a supervisory position of Thais many times Thanks to All

I heard that Roland was interviewed for the position. They are looking to save 10 baht here and there to increase profit, and lower overhead.

Hen Hee Agogo! (translated into Thai meaning "See pussy" )

I got a "poll" for ya! 5555! ......or is that a "pole"?
-
So, does that make you an "International Man of Intrigue"? 5555! I can just picture you now in your Austin Powers outfit. ROFLMAO! OH BEHAVE BABY!

I miss interpreted your post. In the way that you are refering to it, as better than most places in Thailand, yes I would agree with you to a certain extent.

Let's see? 1) The little boxes that you put in your car that automatically pay tolls, so you don't have to stop 2) Bullet Trains, the rail system in Thailand is something from the 1940's. 3) How about weigh stations to make sure that trucks are not over loaded? 4) How about the latest technology on how to build roads that last more than a couple years? 5) A bar coding system for the prostitutes so I can pay by just running my credit card between her pussy lips.

Let's talk about how the police "decide" if you are speeding or not. I seen a radar gun in Thailand for the first time last year near Don Muang. I have never seen any in any other locations.

Let's talk about the high tech electrical wires hanging all over the place in Pattaya?
-
I don't really need to answer this do I? Okay, I will humor you with some pretty basic stuff. 1) Singapore knows how to keep things clean, and how to use technology to get rid of waste. 2) Singapore knows how to control traffic using technology to control traffic lights. Plus they have LAWS and enforce them about driving. I don't think there is much use of going any further.

I would not consider Pattaya to be a "technologically advanced" city. Far from it to tell you the truth. For that matter, I wouldn't consider Bangkok to be either. When I think of "technologically advanced" cities, I think of Dubai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore. I would consider Pattaya to be one of the more "low tech" tourist destinations in Asia.

Or, they can take a brand new fucking house and 2.5 rai of land, and between her and her family, they make it look like a fucking 25 year old junk yeard within 6 months. I don't care that much really, as her parents paid for it.

I like Thailand because the Laws are more used as vague guidlines. I had some real issues back in my home country. A guy can't have a few beers on the way home? A guy can't have an open beer in public? WTF is the world coming too? I like the food. I have always liked spicey Asian food. I like the fact that I make the same salary as I did in my home country, and can live a hell of a lot cheaper. I like the fact that I am different than the locals, and I get more attention than I did back in my home country. I like the fact that beer is a fraction of the cost here, as compared with beer in my home country.

Is there some where on the forum that gives a decription of each group, and what being a member of one means? Or, is it not really that important?
