Alan, there's a fair bit of fixing to do that will remove the annoying system32 folder opening startup issue. Run Hijack This again, press scan and put a check mark against the following (I am working from top to bottom on your previous scan log): R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing O1 - Hosts: 217.116.231.7 aimtoday.aol.com12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0A28355C-1F91-A40D-886D-A91CDB01166D} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hdfvtmpt.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {3F31857E-22F1-4752-4E10-3EC6EC99E3CC} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\urmxxuoo

Did you try this one Alan?? Let's give it a go before reinstalling windows.

Ok - before doing anything make sure you turns off system restore - you can always turn it back on when you know yr machine is clean: Right-click 'My Computer' then click 'Properties'. Click 'System Restore' tab then uncheck the box before 'Turn off System Restore' Click OK. Restart your computer. Once done, go to Housecall and run an online scan which will disinfect your system. Reboot once done. Next, download Ad-Aware After installing AAW, and before running the program, you need to FIRST update the reference file following the instructions here: http://www.lavahelp.com/

Ahhh... come on Steve... why are people not posting no more? Surely it can't be because Baz is straight up & says what's on his mind? Heaven help us if that's the case.... Ok - let's set ourselves a challenge gentlemen... I am sure there are many potential contributors to the board out there who, for a variety of reasons, have not shared their LOS experiences. This board is all about an exchange of experiences - hopefully so others can benefit. It's NOT about beating each other up over political, racist, or any other view..... there's plenty of other places we can go to get that!

Teachers or classes on speaking Thai in Pattaya?
triplegee replied to Leadbelly's topic in Idle Chit Chat
great suggestion Ryu - I am prepared to do same with a CD i have called Talk-Now (learn Thai) - I can burn it and forward on. I would appreciate a copy of your Pimsleur stuff - I hear it is pretty good... Now... how are we going to manage these logistics?? ??? I have something I am prepared to pass on and you have something I want!! I will PM you with my address details - Bangkok FYI - let me know if you would like a copy of what I have - same goes to anyone else that is interested... Ghost - I have been looking at Kazaa for your files as well to no avail... thanks for trying tho!! -
Residence Garden Inn. Net connection
triplegee replied to Cess's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Cess - normal phone link only... good internet cafe very close by (exit hotel - turn left - walk about 100m)... the line speeds achieved in Pattaya (including RG) are typically 44.0 kbs and above - beats Bangkok!! Cheers, G3 -

Viper..... i can understand your curiosity as my Bangkok immigration experiences were amongst some of the worst I've had... any line will work - don't be put off by the signage.... even the ASEAN queue will process you.... just smile as you hand over your papers!! Oh yeah - if you get the over-zealous official who tries to steer you to the furtherest away queue just smile and say "mai pan rai krab" and stay where you are! It's also best to try and not have luggage because often you will berth at terminal 1 and your luggage is at terminal 2!! and it can be a long walk............... For tho

Mats has quoted the right price ex-internet... there's a travel agent at the airport (near the train station platfform's)... they tend to do better prices & u can book with them a couple of hours before flight departure.... they're call Last Minute Travel Agent... phone number +662-566-2517... I've been able to get anywhere between 6,600 & 10,000 baht with them... They take Amex but will charge a surcharge... Chok dee... G3

dode... good to hear you're going in with your eyes open... you need to based on all the hard luck stories that are about the place. But of course, there's also some who have made it work... Whilst I have no direct experience in this area.. I have been keeping an eye on this page, as it lists business opportunities in Pattaya & surrounds & offers insight into prices paid & what's included.... http://asiabugle.com/Classified/Businessop...portunities.htm I think the one piece of advice I would offer is that in Thailand often all is not as it seems... I would think long &a

Joop.... good advice on Kazaa... just make sure that you're aware of the "hidden" bits about Kazaa... Not only does it install ad-software that results in ads popping up in a series of unwelcome windows (recommend a pop-up stopper program be installed at same time) but it made the headlines on the 'net recently for the fact that there is functionality built into the software that will allow the makers of kazaa to tap into spare processor power, memory & hard-drive on all user's computer's at any point in time - thus creating a "super-computer"..... what this means for users is constant

Jimmac.. I stayed at the Markland on my first trip to Pty - Jan this year... I was there to visit my TG she stayed with me for a week.. we registered as a couple so there was no guest issues... As for the hotel itself - I seem to recall that it was quite good value for money but I can't recall the rate I paid!! The room was probably the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in... a lot of empty space tho & fairly dated... room service was good.. bathroom ok.. had a bath.. always comes in handy! ;D Good location... but I must say I have stayed in Pty 7 times since & have no
