  1. Should have been clearer. There is alcohol in duty free. And the planes are not dry. Your right no bars in normal terminal.
  2. Yes flown with them many times, good airline food very good.Doha airport has being extended but still not that big.Better than before though. No there not dry Join the frequent fliers program and get extra luggage allowance 30k.
  3. Yes Flown with them at least twice. For me on board as good as emirates. But the problem is Doha airport.I found joining the freqant fliers was a good idea, got me a better seat. Small terminal your bussed in and out.Toilets pretty bad,not enough. Airport organisation not good.Watch the departures board. There is talk of building a new terminal though. After that I would use them again.Just tie a knot in it ;-)
  4. Air and city traffic in Bangkok June 8-14, 2006 Travellers who intend to fly to or from the Bangkok or transit through the airport on stop overs between 8-14 June should expect disruption to their itineraries because the airspace over Don Muang International Airport in Bangkok will be closed to all flights upon arrivals and departures of foreign dignitaries attending the 60th anniversary celebrations of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's ascension to the throne. Visitors are advised to anticipate delays and to factor these into their itineraries. They should also arrive early for check-in at air

  7. Just received this from Manchester Airport news /information; "The Abu Dhabi based carrier will be flying one of the very first of its new aircraft, a luxuriously appointed Airbus A330 configured in two Zones – Coral and Pearl. Special launch fares are available for a limited time in Etihad's Coral Zone from £226 plus tax. www.etihadairways.com" Any of you guru`s have an idea where you can get these fares from online. Checked all the regular haunts. As Etihads booking site still does not have Manchester displayed. Best I can do is £296 + Tax = £341.00 with airline ba

  9. I always fly from Manchester and always book on the net about 6 weeks before flight. The prices do vary and usually I have to check a number of agencies over a number of days/weeks to get a flight at the right price. If your dates are over holidays in either uk or thailand the prices will be more expensive. My cheapest was on Finnair a couple of years ago £370. And £378 with Qatar last May. But anything under £500 am happy with.Flying with emirates in October £470.Booked with Airline Network. But now Thomas Cook are showing the same flight at £448 incl. Not a company renowned for competati
  10. Dont like being called a liar! A mouse eats more than I do !!!. Just be glad your thin. A large fit person is fitter/healther than a thin fit person!!! according to my doctor!! And a large person will survive longer in the sea than a thin one
  11. You might like to know that all large people do not neccesary eat more. Some larger people in fact eat less than thin people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. And then there are those with glandular problems.

  14. Qatar Airlines/change planes Doha,Qatar.About an hour.
  15. Yes! I flew with them last year from manchester.Service ok varied crew nationalities.Main problem was foot rests didn`t leave much room to be to comfortable, if you are on the tall side.It would have been far better without the foot rest!!!! Plane from doha to bangkok got to take off position and then something broke. We heard a large crack!! ???Don`t know what it was.We went back to terminal where there was total confusion. We ended up on a flight to K/L where we had to get another flight to bangkok arriving a number of hours late. :-/ On arriving in bangkok we found they had not transfered
  16. China Airlines told to pay damages for crash Friday 26 December 2003, 10:32 Makka Time, 7:32 GMT The judge said the pilot ignored the most basic duty A Japanese court told Taiwan's China Airlines (CAL) on Friday to pay five billion yen ($46.61 million) in compensation for a 1994 crash in Japan that killed 264 people. In a ruling at the Nagoya District Court, presiding judge Junko Ikadatsu ordered the airline to pay the compensation to 232 plaintiffs. 18. Yes I stayed at the sunshine vista apartments about 5 weeks ago. No charge for guests :-)) Rooms good.Watch the housekeeper, she did not like me taking my laundry elsewhere > (It was a third of the price up the soi). Also when I stayed there .There was a lot of building work going on all around.Started early morning till about 5.Nice pool on roof!! Food in restaurant I found very poor.A nice touch was the secrurity guy saluted me smartly every night when I went out.In fact after a week I moved out for somewhere cheaper.I don`t need a pool.Plenty of places around just as good for less money
  19. No!! Qatar airlines are not dry, full bar service .Sorry do not know business and first class fares. But I would think they would be competative. As this is a newish airline that started in 1997 with two planes. Now has about 35 I think, with a large number recently ordered from airbus in France.New routes are been added each month.Doha airport terminal is small but modern and is been extended in the very near future.OK for a short stop.Resonable stop overs are available.Cabin staff a mixture of Qataries (sp) and uk nationals.Extremley tight security at Doha airport.Probably the best I have seen.
  20. ;)You might want to check out Qatar Airlines.Manchester to Bangkok via Doha. This service started in April. One and half hours stop over going out and two and a half coming back.Four times a week! Just come back after six weeks in Thailand. The return flight cost me £438 inc taxes.with airline network. All planes new airbuses.Flight service ok.Two meals on each flight!!!Planes at the moment are less than half full!! ;D ;D
  21. Just booked Manchester to Bangkok on the 28 may with Qatar Airways £438 incl with Airline Network.Change over time in Doha. One hour ten minutes out. A couple of hours return.Handy for a walk too refresh. ;D
