  1. According to the Suvannabhumi Transportation Guidelines [6], only flat-fare limousine services will be allowed to operate directly from the airport terminal. Passengers will have to take a shuttle bus to the bus terminal 3 km away in order to use ordinary metered taxi services. At the current airport Don Muang these limousine services are more expensive than taking a metered taxi. Got this from Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suvarnabhumi_Airport
  2. Lancashire Lad, have you thought about travelling over on a normal 30 day bog standard entry on arrival visa to Thailand, hang out in Pattaya and check out what each centre has to offer before signing up? Then exit the country before your 30 days are up. Apply for the 60 Day Tourist Visa in Penang/Vientiane/Phnom Pen etc.. ,extendable (painlessly at Soi 8 in Pattaya) by another 30 days. By that time you will have a grasp of what goes on, and any other "Visa Run" to the local borders will be just part of your time there. You will get cheaper digs than the dive school offer but I doubt
  3. Jonbreadman, nice one! Well done. Stamboy asks what are the best numbers to choose? Go for the highest value of the 2 dice, unless it is already taken, gives you more options later, but y'all already knew that right?
  4. Flew London-Bangkok with Aeroflot about 2 years ago. Never again. At £350 return it was not to be sniffed at but once we sat down I was glad I'd had a few drinks before I boarded. The plane was a 70's throwback, rotary dials (big plastic things like some sort of 1950's radio) on anything that looked like an instrument panel (God knows what the flight deck was equipped with) The toilet reeked of piss and there was a flight of stairs with a battered wooden handrail that led down from the main cabin area to the belly of the plane. This had me puzzled as I thought about cargo/storage and pressure
  5. Leemo, try afterdawn.com Lots of stuff going on there
  6. The Evisu stuff in Candy's is quite good, the denim stuff anyway, T-shirts shrink in the wash apparently. Anyway, I'm off now, this could be getting monitored by Interpol.
  7. Only just read this post. Anyone seen the big American car that cruises up and down Pattaya with the for sale sign in it?, pure pimp mobile. Also, what is the score with the Al Pacino/Serpico stickers on various Thai vehicles? Is it an Asian thing as I have seen them on Rickshaws and lorries in India as well.
  8. Monkeyman, how do you pay for the taxi transfer? Is it over the internet or cash to the driver? Cheers.
  9. Thanks for the info chaps, I usually go with Emirates and the 3 hr wait in Dubai is a killer. Anyway, I'm off to check airline safety statistics now!, you've got me a little sh*t up over those mysterious cracks and bangs :-[
  10. Hi All, going with Qatar on my next trip to Thailand, anybody used them recently? More to the point, any smokers used them? If so, did you notice if Doha duty free stocks Regal? I have been instructed to buy this brand only by fussy relative. Any info would be a great help,Thanks!
  11. Hello everybody, just joined and thought I would say Hi. New to this site but not new to Pattaya/Thailand.
