Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Grand Mercure Park Ave in Bangkok
Floyd replied to Floyd's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
yup leave 19 june return nz 19 july. got free roundtrip upgrade on thai with no points deduction. had to be used before november. 2 weeks in phils and 2 in thailand. going to share birthday with girl i met in angeles last trip. our birthdays are on the same day but luckily for me different years.i would put her pic here but hotels are pg rated. think i will go for mercure park ave even if the location sucks slightly. its only for 1 night as the rate is pretty good but would prefer nearer nana plaza for my first night. -
Has anybody stayed at this property.staying 1 night in BKK before travelling to Phils. IS there much of a walk down soi 22. Seems very handy to soi cowboy. here is the website http://www.bangkok.com/grandmercurebkk/

im not surprised as december is high season. you did say early dec but what number exactly. think thai goes high around 14-16 dec but could be 1st. you gotta rember lots of thai students study around the worl and rich mommys/papas fly them in biz class. out of nz never had a problem getting upgrade except once which was nz school holidays.remember thai has blackout dates.

yes Cafe NewOrleans has a pinoy menu.
-
Correct they are star alliance partners. I see Varig has pulled out of Star Alliance
-
email the concerned airline as im sure they will help you out.
-
Metro i wish you luck but one thing i would like to add here that hasnt been said yet is many of us fly biz class on different airlines cos we dont want kids and crying babies running around. they should be contained in cattle class.

just did a broad search on Zugi.june to july cheapest fare $899.00 dearest fare 1199.00 of course using the 899.00 fare you wont earn ROP points but you might on the $1199.00 fare. it doesnt incl taxes and domestic flights if you live outside auckland. air nz sells the wgtn - akl leg for $50.00 each way but no points. by using zugi you will have to book yourself at around $120.00 each way by advance booking. Search Criteria Airline and Price Departure Date Return Date Departure Flight Return Flight Auckland, New Zealand to Bangkok, Thailand Date Range From Jun 2007 To Jul 2007

have u checked out guji nz. my friend went last year $950 + taxes but obviously no points to earn. a rumour circulating thai circles in nz is that thai sells tickets to thai nationals cheaper than non thais.
-
think that will entail a stopover in Singapore. very unlikely its a direct service.
-
im paying $1678.00 (TG) in june in Q class from Wellington to Auckland/Bangkok/Manila but it earns full points and i get a full roundtrip upgrade from when i went gold 2 years ago

Tom you may have miscontrued what i was trying to say. I got upgraded at sydney on a 747 flight to BKK and 1st/biz had personal tvs. have no idea if it was in coach as well. have been on one thai 777 with personal tv in all classes but the rest only in 1st/biz. Was reported in BKK Post last week that thai was thinking about buying some airbus 330's at the discounted rate of $90M in a settlemen with airbus due to the late delivery of thais 4 + 4 airbus 380'S. DELIVERY DATE NOW CIRCA 2009.

if u fly first or biz with thai, when u leave from new airport there is a premium checkin area and once checked in there is a premium customs area so you dont have to line up with cattle class (for immigration) like at don maung. i dont know about earlier poster but believe thai now have new configuration with personal tvs on most first/biz class sectors now and in coach on most longhaul flights. you are just lucky in coach to get a personal tv on shorthaul asia to asia flights.

yup i saw it on go2phil.com. the matter is closed as i have given up. i will post the traditional way.

I know how to post images. I have posted heaps over the years. Just found a nifty program called slide where you can present a lot of pictures in a nice format style but im buggered if i know how to get the code from there to a message board. never mind i wont pesevere with it.

This is awesome. could change the way we post pics in the future. hope the mods agree with this trial. Lots of old flb girls and girls from other bars.I have plenty of old pics on my hard drive 24.slide.com/p2/144115188078231844/be_t021_v000_a000_f00/images/xslide2.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /> hope i can delete this if it doesnt load properly.

Tried to upload pics last week but for some reason wouldnt upload to pattayapics so here it is, better late than never. I had looked at the website of the Mercure on and off and the rooms looked quite nice and management emailed me back that oversite visitors were ok and there was no joiner fee so i thought there would be no harm booking here for a quick 3 day visit. 1 managed to get a suite for just under 2000 bt per night. I thought that was pretty good value when the website said it include wifi etc. I was happy with the property and offered room. The suite was in a L shape

i was going to say that. u could fly to bkk from phuket or even singapore-manila with jetstar or whatever budget airline flies phuket-singapore
-
Guys check the link again, as pete had to manually insert the images as there was something wrong with the software on the day i uploaded the report. still having problems downloading pics onto pattayapages as the page logs out.

nah not me. i hope the nonstop route stays, TG dont fly to sydney now but the plane is much better than the 747 and business class is so nice.
