Somebody put a link up here recently of all the airlines doing the BKK-MNL route but this airline deal only has 3 pages here so I assume our guru Pattaya Pete has purged older stuff to save bandwitht. In short I already have a AKL-MNL flight thru BKK with TG but yesterday a friend decided to tag along and bought a AKL-BKK flight but they (flight centre) were quoting him $nzd500 to fly BKK-MNL with TG. I think he can do it cheaper even if we are not on the same flights across the Philippine sea.

hope not cos im supposed to be on one of those new planes. The Thai Govt has to learn that you need tospend money to make money. And they need to look after the net worth of their offshore shareholders. (hahaha)

I took 2 girls back to the Grande on my last night and after they spoke to the front desk in Thai there was no problem.

I see Malaysia Airlines flies from KL to Cebu in the Philippines. But it has one stop so I suppose it is via Manila.

flew BKK-MNL with TG on a boeing 777 in with complimentry upgrade to business and the seats was 2 + 2 + 2. Actually it was a bit more comportable than the upper deck of business in a 747. And what was better, It was free.

TG already have at least 1 new airbus 340-600 as i saw it there this month after arriving from New York in the new thai logo livery.

Maybe TG DECIDED SOMETIME AS THE NEW AKL-BKK direct service has been replaced by a mcdonald douglas plane.

Down here in NZ most coach tickets are "Q" class so Q is still ok to earn points. Have 10k points to go to go Gold. so next trip.

Reading in the thai magazine on the way home, that you can now cash in some points for a thai limo to anywhere in Bangkok. Didnt mention Ptty. Points will range betweeen 4-8000 points depending on location. Cannot prebook but just go to the limo counter on arrival.

Yeah I might transfer there today if i can fly out of bkk tomorrow night instead of today. I have a friend arriving from Singapore this afternoon. Now if you guys want a cheap place, not flash but right in Soi Cowboy, go to The PennyBlack. price IK baht per night. no more, no less and entrance is next to Long gun. couldn't get any more convenient than that.

yup. I have stayed at both. Majestic Grande is a smaller version of J.W. Marriott, as luxerious, AND room rates starting at 2950 baht rather than 7-8k at the Marriott, but with smaller rooms. Grottino is a smaller falang owned hotel but is a good price imho. Compare the photos

Im there now.No problem with girls. Got wifi in my room, 24 hours for 550 baht, 350 for 3 hours and there is another option for 1 hour. Took the 24 hours just for the convenience and anyhow im flying out tomorrow night.

Here it is I don't know which road you enter to get to it. But it is basically behinfd Tims but to the right. Think the entrance would be on A subsoi off Soi 15 me thinks.

I travel mostly in coach but do travel in Business now and then, I have yet to see a plane that has those powerpoints. I have the connection cable but have yet to see it on a plane. Believe they have it on Singapore in business and 1st class and is primary a exectutive class product.

Pattaya center hotel. Not 2 rooms but if you book a corner room. eg 901,1001,1101 you get a very large room divided by a small duivider/
