  1. The problem with going from your country to Thailand is that most intl airlines that only have one flight a day will use agents to man their checkin counters for their flight. In the case of Auckland, Thai use Air New Zealand counter staff so you are right that there is no chance in getting a upgrade out.
  2. Zuji singapore site will be in Sing dollars. The other site i cant help you on my friend.
  3. its ok now. must of been down overnite.
  4. I never thought there was a difference crosiing pacific/europe as both sectors are about 12-14 hours. USA/Canada I know is a huge flight. I upgraded to Gold with ROP last trip and have a free upgrade to bus provided I book a coach seat in V class or higher. No points decrease, just a compliment in attaining Gold status but has to be used within 2 years.
  5. I like TG but this trip flew SQ for a change (still a star alliance airline) TG leaves NZ at 3.30pm and flies direct to BKK arriving 9.30pm. 10.30pm when daylight savings ends in NZ. SQ leaves NZ at 1.10am and arr Singapore at 6.30am and there is a connecting flight in about 1.5 hours after arrival so you could be in BKK by 10am. Much better time than the late arrival.
  6. I was just going to report that, that TG new planes (maybe only airbus, not sure about boeing) now have individual inseat screens and on the airbuses intl power adaptor underneath the seats even in coach. Even Singapore Airlines dont have that funtion yet but SQ is currently rolling out internet access in the pacific rim flights on boeing planes. I dfont think TG has that in their thoughts yet. Imagine on a 10-14 hour flight home you could write and file a trip report b4 you hit home.
  7. Stayed at both. Solitaires locaTION sucks. Solitaire big tv is the only plus. Majestics room is like being in 5 star but paying 3 star price.

  11. believe Malaysian airlines flies to Cebu. But you have to get to KL first. Better off getting a domestic flight from Clarke to Cebu on http://www.flyseair.com/ or Manila to Cebu on http://www.philippineairlines.com/ . Dont know how up to date i am but TG, Philippine airlines, Luthansa and Air France were flying the BKK-MNL route.
  12. Im flying AKL-MNL in Feb (NZ day) but have opted to fly SQ rather than TG this time and for the first time going to asia wont step foot into Thailand as SQ are $100 cheaper and they have this great flight SQ282 that leaves AKL at 1.10am.

  14. This is what i bought at Big C for 2500bt. And i use it at home rather than my big NZ purchased one as it will play all my zone3 dvds from asia. I use to look for luxury hotels with DVD players but now i just hook this little baby up and away we go. Only problem now is i want a hotel with 60" flat screens like the Solitaire in BKK.
  15. What about Thai. I got a roundtrip upgrade next time i fly... My travel agent (holiday shoppe francise) doesnt expect any specials on thai to at least the end of january for late feb-april travel. 20. Had a customer in my cab, he uses qantas exclusively but wont when the A380 starts service on his flight sectors. He reckons no want wants to fly them, crew them or fly in them as a passenger. he claims its a untested bomb.
