  1. I once brought a girl (from Chaiyaphum) to my country (Holland) for a 2 weeks holidays back in the early 90's. I flew with her from Thailand to be sure she had no troubles at the immigration (we had not). First thing she said when we left the airport was "Why are all the trees dead?" (no leaves as it was winter). We had lots of fun the two weeks despite being very cold for her. I showed her around and she was genuinely curious and interested. I even left her alone for 2 days to attend some business, but never had any problems. She had no intention to stay so I put her back on the plane 2 weeks
  2. Every time since my first visit in 1985, just can't beat the mobility. It's al about restraining the alcohol and anticipation, anticipation, anticipation. Must say the last few years it's getting worse by the enormous increase of baht busses, and other bikes. It's getting hard to find a place to park the damn scooter.
  3. Some of my faves: Fuji (Jap food) - Big C, Festival Tequila Reef (Mex food) - Soi 7 Pig and Whistle (UK Food) - Soi 7 Beer Garden (All food) Secrets has an excellent Lasagne.
  4. Looking a this map transfer on Phaya Thai Station Sukhumvit Line to Nana. BTW love the way the Nana station is announced: "Next station is Nanaaa..." PS: Trotting along on the BTR (inc.transfers and escalators) with 1-2 bags can be a slight problem (well, maybe not for the young guns..)
  5. Bar songs of Pattaya that stuck in my mind (guess it show the decade....) "You drive me crazy" "Fools Gold" and so applicable... and of course the girls favorite karaoke song "Chan Rak Thur"
  6. Mirkie, who da hell is Richard_W anyways? No Thai wife in sight after some experiments in the past, keep them for fun only.... pinays are for the serious stuff LOL Actually I didn't know you were into boot fetishism? You never fail to surprise me.... Wish ya both well Freddy
  7. Working at Boots?? I thought your wife worked in a Louis Vuitton shop, Mirkie? Or was it Cartiers?
  8. GI've noticed everybody is new born as a *newbie. How is this *classification working? Do I have to mark every time post read by myself? This is what I liked abt the old system, a very quick look is enough. Do I have to read all answers every time? I liked the old system whewre I could pick out the messages myself I wanted to read, in ither words is there a threaded mode? Sanuk4Ever? Freddy
  9. Yeah Bob, goodbye to the good ol' days. I've seen it happen with several other boards go the same way. It'll end up with 24 different sections and will become a "multinational" message board where you're a number and not a member..... Oh, well...... you can't stop "progress", call me old fashioned :-[ Regards Freddy
  10. it's slooooooooooow, cumbersome, too much bells and glitters and doesn't have the warmth of the old one, yuk, I feel like I'm in a hospital instead of a cosy bar...... :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ But hey... PattayaPierre is headstrong like a sheep...... so I guess.....alea jacta est Freddy
