I like the place, I have stayed there twice in the past, and Alex is a nice chap to spend and evening with and generous to boot, not staying there next time I go, only due to the fact the soi is now being dominated by the agogos and they are just not my cup of tea. Rock House is very popular and I always enjoy my time in there.

LK is my area of choice, I have stayed there at various GHs, Irish Rovers, Club Blu, The Rock House, being an oldy I am not so keen on the agogos but I love all the bars, nice to have a couple of electrolites in the Drunken Duck to put some salts back in to the system during the afternoon. After my last stay on LK I found it a tad noisy, must of been a week where there was a lot of parties going one, November I am Soi Lengkee so within striking distance of the LK. LK Metro a great place to be.

I have my room booked 10 nights from 10th November, looks good, only 1 negative i heard off and that was the water went off a lot, but that happens in a lot of places.

The DVDs are worn out and do not play properly anymore, keep stop starting, they are a waste of time now. used to be fun.

Its actually Nee and she was the day time cashier at the Rover, she ting tong just ask Fred, but she is great fun

From my experience you will find the bar at the Rovers will stay open so long as there are customers, when the bar is closed they have a night porter who will make sure you can get to the room, one of the best establishments in the area for sure. Chap that was staying there took a lady from pook swan and nothing was said, so long as they have id. and of legal age. so yes i would say the irish rovers is LB friendly

As a previous poster put in my experience Bell didnt leave on time either, if your name is down on their list they will wait 10 or 15 mins for you to appear, I land 0705 and I have chanced booking on the 0800 no biggy if I miss it, just tell they girl and she will stick you on the next one, I have never known the bus be over crowded never been more than 10 people onit going to Patts, however coming back its a different story especially the ones destined for BKK city.

Not sure if this is the correct way to show a screen shot but here I found a good price for £388 January in to February 2010 booking with Travel pack. only 1hr 50 stopover going but 6 hours coming back, over £500 on other flight search pages, I am going to hang on in hope for EVA to drop to around 500 ish prefer to go direct if I can afford it.

When I went through with booking that, I found that at the end after choosing my outgoing and in coming flights they had put £298.50 twice in my basket, the flights looked like they were £298.50 return but in fact they were each way. I was well dissapointed, but cheared up when I did book with Jet for £409 return with good times and only a couple of hours stop over each way.

By the time you get of the plane and then through immigration then baggage claim, you would be nearer to the 1400 bus any ways with out waiting to long.

I bet I wont be that lucky, I am looking to travel 28th Jan 2010 till 13 th Feb EVA is £690 and Thai £560. I have not got the patience to wait till i see them under £500. as close to that and I will be clicking book now

I have just returned this morning from staying at the Irish Rovers. I have nothing but praise for the place, they were faultless in very sense of the word, hospitality second to none. Breakfasts were superiour to what I found in the local area, rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily without fail. If you are unsure of a place to stay then look no futher than this establishment, they have quite a few ladies that ensure that you are enjoying your evening in the bar. If you are lucky they even organise trips to Bang Chang and the Darkside depending on the support of who is staying and who is interested in going, I was lucky enough to go on both tours, Pat (Boss) has a circle of friends local that come to the bar and all make you feel like you are one of them. The area LK Metro I would say is very convenient for everywhere being very central. there is enough to do in the Metro itself without venturing in to town at all, you have heard and read stories of Hell Club - Lolitas - Bobs BBQ. Liquid Lounge - they are ALL in the same street, one side soi diana other side soi buakaow. they very next soi is soi honey where all the best massage places are close together. POOK bar just 2 mins away if thats your thing. (not mine). Not a stranger to Thailand but Feb is going to be my first Patts trip, reading this thread you guys really scare the poop out of me about using the baht bus. seems no one knows where they go, or will it be a bit more clearer when I get there, BTW the area sounds right up my street and I want to make my way there soon. 59 days away. thanks for the info on the area for a newbie it was inlightening.
