Yep, I do. Work for the defense sector though. And I'd really like to see Boeing build the Sonic Cruiser. Though they aren't going to stimulate any interest unless they keep the cost factor at or below what a A380 costs. Not to mention with technology today, proper aerodynamics can reduce fuel burn, and increase performance. I'm no enginneer, but a B-2 bomber has less drag than any other conventional aircraft.
-
Hence partially the need to build a new BKK airport. It will be able to accomodate the A380. I've seen the plans for LAX, what a mess it is. They have to demolish 3 terminals and all the parking. Plus demolish part of the Bradley International terminal. All that for a plane that turns out to be a big headache. It's hasn't really done so good. Less than 100 orders for the A380.

China Airlines = Poor Safety record. http://www.airdisaster.com/cgi_bin/airline...=China+Airlines EVA, so far no accidents. I'm taking EVAs red eye flight next time so I get into LOS at 11:00am, and not the wee hours.

What movies are playing /Exchange rate
eltib replied to Crelus's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Dad and I took our TGs to Big C. At first they wanted to see Harry Potter.(Thank God they changed their minds ;D) But then they saw "The Legend of Kra-Sue playing." Actually for a Thai horror-vampire movie it was pretty good. Better than some of the American crap I've seen in the past, that has put me asleep(literally). But honestly I stayed awake in this movie. The movie was in Thai with English subtitles. Wanna check what's playing at Big C and Royal Garden? Click the link below. http://www.pattayamail.com/cinema -
At the moment, I don't think there is a plane that can fly non-stop from USA to Bangkok. I'm sure when the 777-LR and A380 are brought in to service in 2005-2006, that feat will be achieved.

You guys should have Flown EVA Air or Phillipine A/L. They had afternoon flights.
-
They do that basically to make sure that you don't become a "no show."
-
Hey Cess, I bought one of those Fuji Fine pix 2800 last week. So far it is working great. I'm taking it with me to LOS.
-
Same for me. But it was the "we don't have a guest policy" the sold it for me at the RG. I'd rather have that then being on the beach and not being able to bring a lady back. That's my biggest gripe with Timeshares. They will not allow guests. So I'm getting a suite @ the RG. Unlike the one I leased for 30 years in Mexico, without all the hassles I have to put up with. Especially with people calling me up asking me to upgrade. And then if I want to go somewhere else, it ends up costing me another $200 per week, plus giving up my home resort.

Cost of hiring jetski &/or speedboat?
eltib replied to simonb's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
That's a deal compared you'll pay that, or more for 1/2 hour on jetskis in Mexico. -
Then hopefully will get to meet up at the FLB, that night. :)
-
Check your email. I'm up for it on the 17th, but I return to L.A. on the 30th. I'm staying at the RG like you.

With taxes you're looking at about more or less the $700.00 range on China Air. I'm flying EVA when I go. It's 4 bux more than Thai,($761.00) but the return flight leaves from BKK at 5:40 PM, wheras Thai leaves at 8:20 a.m. That allows me to party my last Friday night in Pattaya
-
I went there to book my trip for November and the price quoted was $761.00 USD. The website had a price to validate the fare and it immediately went up to $1902.00. So I booked my trip through my company website for $761.00 USD.

Good one Rhoel...LMAO! ;D

Just do one thing.. Anybody in those street booths ask you questions, just ignore them, and move on. They are all over the street in Vallarta. Especially the Villa Del Palmar ones. I have 8 more years on my DelMar property, and then I'm done with it. I'm not renewing it. I'm sorry I even bought them. I wanted to go to Thailand since 1991, and now I have the vacation time accrued to do it.
-
LMAO! How True!
-
I own the Villa Del Palmar and Villa Del Mar in Puerto Vallarta Skate. I've seen the Royal resorts in Cancun, and they're beautiful resorts. Unfortunately I don't have those ones.
-
Hey Skate... Thanx for the info. That's similar to what they do in Mexico, but they use the "free tour/jeep" sort of thing. I still have to deal with my resort pulling the same crap, especially from this girl named Dahlila. I just unplug my telephone when I go to my room and the problem is solved. ;D
-
I just checked Interval International's site out. About a month ago, they had 2 or 3 resorts on their site for Pattaya, now they have none. It doesn't look like I'll be exchanging my resorts in Mexico for Thailand. Doesn't really matter anyway. After seeing the Residence Garden, that place blows most of these timeshares outta the water. So chances are the Residence garden will be my choice. ;D
-
Hopefully I'll get a reply from you( with the instructions) in a few days. The FLB girls are rather conservative looking compared to some of the links I've seen through this site( regarding the other bars in Pattaya).
-
I hope when I come to Thailand next year, I don't have to deal with people trying to sell me Timeshare. I bought 2 in Mexico 14 years back and it isn't worth the money or headaches. Can anybody tell me what to look out for, so I can avoid it?

Should we party in Pattaya or Phuket?
eltib replied to dubya's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Glad to hear some of your opinions. I was undecided about Pattaya or Phuket myself. It would be nice if they had a major airport closer to Pattaya. I've read they are currently building a 2nd international airport in Bangkok. Probably to handle that new Airbus monstrosity coming out in 2006. -
Clark.. I travel to Mexico regulary by myself and don't really worry. Just be aware of your surroundings, and stay away from places that are too good to be true.
