Once again. The seats in Elite Class suck, so I upgraded to Premium Laurel class on my return flights. Unfortunately they are phasing out their 747 fleet, and I may have to choose a different airline in the future, if Premium Laurel takes a big price hike from the 2600 USD they now charge.

Does the change affect land line to mobile calls too?

Close Braveheart, but not as bad. Got me a hardnose last year, making comments on how much I went to Thailand, they gave my bags the once over because they thought my surger suppresors were bombs. What I can't understand is why you didn't fly directly back to Canada instead of having to deal with our Nazi storm troopers. One thing about the lighters....You can't take them outbound, but you can bring them inbound. I completely forgot that I had one last time I went and their scanner didn't even pick it up at all. Hopefully the lighter ban will be a fond memory before November's trip. I hear Congress are considering it because smokers want a ciarette after 14 hours after sitting on a airplane.

Just booked my trip for November base price was $754.00 for Evergreen Deluxe / Elite Class. Total fare with taxes was $957.00 Damnit! Fist trip I took was only $50 in taxes. Blame it on George Bush for his Homeland Security and oil prices. You guys want to make good for your trips do it now....The Evergreen Deluxe Fare will not be that much lower, if at all. Gotta call EVA tomorrow and cash in some miles for 777 trip home. I want a sleeper seat, and not those Ergonomic Elite seats.

OK, I've flown EVA's 777 now for the last 4 flights from TPE to BKK. I've sat in all 3 classes. Premium Economy Elite Class Premium Laurel Class IMHO the seats are horrible in both Elite and Economy. The Elite class seat doesn't even measure up to the Deluxe Class aboard their 747s. To me it isn't even as wide as the deluxe seat, and pitch ratio for reclining is the same as economy. Ever since ergonomic seats has been introduced, I've had backaches. I plan on flying the 747s as much as I can in the future. I guess when EVA retires the 747s, I'll have to try another airline. What are your thoughts?

Don't upgrade from Evergreen Deluxe to Business Class, it's not worth 30000 miles. 747 If you are fortunate to upgrade from Elite to Premium Laurel, it is worth it. 777, A330 only. You get about 1 inch more of seat width in Business and that's it. Did it once in 2004, and i won't do it again.

I'm wondering if setting up a P.O. box in a non-tax state would qualify?

I hope it wasn't one of those Cyberhome CH300 players. I've seen reviews on them, and they are full of problems. I just gave mine to my coworker, and bought a Phillips DVP642, it does everything without all the freeze ups, and sound cutting out.

Tom, From past experience on their A-330, I'll tell you it's great. Better than Business, and a little less legroon than first.

Ahhh you lucky limeys... I still have to fly that friggen 747 from LAX to TPE. There will be no 777 service from LAX until they retire all their 747s.

This statement is definitely false. They do not serve on bone china. But they do give you real knives when your flight leg is not to/from the USA.

I'm sure the removal of first class will prompt many EVD passengers to upgrade, since it will be only considered an upgrade to Business Class. Those spacebeds are great, had one from the BKK-TPE route in May.

Soi, I'm staying there in 3 weeks, and I didn't have no problem with the room, other than a broken electrical outlet, the first week I was there. When I returned from Pattaya to BKK, I had a remodeled room, no problems at all. The king size bed is really comfortable, and is not stitched twin beds.

That's still more than what I paid, by about about 80 pounds. Just used the conversion chart in Yahoo Finance to see if you got a better deal than me.
