  1. What a stupid fucking place to plant a tree - Mark Bolan
  2. Scientists have found that many women develop 'Dysons Disease' after just a year of marriage. Apparantly, they make a continuous fucking whining noise but don't suck anymore......

  5. I've been told they are to introduce a new in-flight meal called 'Cabbage Surprise' The surprise is there won't be any cabbage in it.
  6. I can understand your point of view about keeping quiet about EVA Deluxe :-X I came out on the 26th November with them in seat 27D and I thought for the money it was very good service and a comfy seat. I was booked 27G for the return. If anyone is flying EVA Deluxe try and get your travel agent to reserve 27D or 27G as it has no other seat in front, ie loads of leg room. Having said all that, I was very lucky and got upgraded to the upper deck for the return. That WAS very nice. C
  7. Interesting times ahead on this one I think. If long haul carriers are forced to alter seating pitch and seat lay-out to cure this problem, then I think ticket prices will have to increase. I believe most people would cough up a few extra quid to get a more comfy and roomy seat, especially if it means a more 'healthy' option. We could see airlines like EVA and their Economy Deluxe service leading the way. When I fly LHR - BKK I don't use anyone else now unless I have to.
  8. I appreciate your comments about the difference between charges using different cards in Thailand. If I were to be travelling on a regular basis, and really worried about a few quid, (which on my salary I'm certainly not) I would change my bank. However, my bank provides me with a good service here in the UK and I really can't be bothered to change to the Nationwide. My post was to give a guide and general information only.
  9. For those of you interested, I used my Switch card twice on a recent trip, and Ive just got the statement. 1st : ATM Machine at the airport (Radanasin Bank) 20000 baht worked out £308.17 + £4.62 charge. That was on the 27th November 2nd : ATM Machine Siam Commercial Bank at the start of Walking Street, 20000 baht worked out £306.91 + £4.60 charge. That was on the 3rd December. Hope that gives you an idea of what it costs to use ATM Machines. Regards. C.
  10. Just a final reminder that if anyone wants a ride from BKK to Pattaya on Wednesday then now is the time to shout. Regards C
  11. Not stayed there myself but the food is great. Makes a nice change from Thai or fast food after youve been in Pattaya a few days. C
  12. Just a reminder as it's getting a bit closer now. Im happy to share a ride with anyone arriving at about the same time as myself in Bangkok on Wednesday 27th November. Happy Holidays! C
  13. Hi there Dad Thanks for that - Im just setting up broadband so my PC is u/s at the moment, using the laptop here, so as soon as Im up and running I'll download em. Maybe see you in November? Don't behave C
  14. Those of you who have downloaded the FLB movie 'intwoman' will see myself at that party (I'm the fat bastard singing My Delilah - Tom Jones eat yer heart out) and Paula my other half is in front of the stage having a good boogie with an FLB hostie. I'm back in late November to say Hi to Ben & Peter and other good friends, but Paula is at Uni studying IT and computing. So she is fulled briefed about Pattaya and knows the score! Regards C
  15. Nice one Tom Hadn't thought of that one. A number of colleagues use it for other things and reckon its good fun and value. I'd be interested to know if anyone gets a bargain from it. Regards C
  16. Hi Steptoe It really is a case of shop around, but a lot of guys I speak to still think going with China from Amsterdam is a good deal, its just a case of where you start from in the UK and which airline to use from UK to Ams and return. As a rule I always fly from Heathrow, because its only 65 miles by road and I can go non-stop. The journey is knackering enough without stop-overs as far as Im concerned. Regards C
  17. Hi Tom Yes I appreciate what you are saying. In the 22 sectors as passenger I have done to Thailand with various airlines, only 3 times have I failed to upgrade, even if it's to the crew section (which is very nice I can assure you). I'm sure you understand we tend to look after each other in the industry.
  18. Hi Richard W I have to confess, youve got me going on that one, as im still waiting for the paperwork. I know I have a reserved seat at the front with extra leg room and dedicated check-in with extra baggage allowance. It certainly looks like business class but to be honest this is my first time with Eva so not to sure. For what Im getting compared to my last trip with Thai which was £620 and down the back, Im not complaining either way. Also, from a selfish point of view being airline staff, I know from talking to colleagues that Eva are staff friendly, so Im hoping for a further upgrade an
  19. I travelled out TG917 a few weeks ago and got 2 tickets for £620 each. Regards C
  20. Just goes to show there's for's and against's whichever way you go. C
  21. Hi Lads, Im flying into Bangkok on Wednesday 27th November at 1555hrs from Heathrow on EVA Flight No BR68. I know its a bit far off (can't wait!) but if anyone wants to ride with me down to Pattaya then let me know you'll be welcome. Regards Captain C

  23. Well Pattayaman, they lost my bags once in Amsterdam, and I'm bloody crew! I checked them in clearly marked for Amsterdam and three days later they found them in Hamburg! Lost luggage said they would find them as quick as they could, but they had their hands full with another 1000 lost bags. The BBC watchdog program said that Amsterdam was the worst airport in the world for losing luggage. Pack a spare pair of undies in the hand luggage I say, together with the condoms. C
  24. The problem with flying via Amsterdam is the way in which many travel agents will persuade you that its possible to transfer through the airport in short time (forgive the pun). A number of things can really screw up your day and miss your connection (or your bags not making it). The most common is the weather in Amsterdam. During the morning and afternoon peak, or wave, as KLM call it, either low visibility, or a surface wind of westerly more than 15 knots will shut down runway 19R which is the preferred landing runway. One less runway means holding for inbound aircraft. Because the long h
