Everytime a problem befalls Thailand, we all want the Baht to drop..( wishful thinking me included ) The sad truth, I think its more about Sterling weakening. I have been to Udon, and planning two trips to Nan and Surin this time. Just happens I have discovered via the forum, two fellow Bristol Rovers supporters from Bristol living in Surin and Nan. I think its worth visiting another country if its a place you really want to see, but apart from Japan ( hideously expensive )I am quite happy to trundle around Thailand...or float..

That seems incredible value. you get a hotel sized room Yes this is true, but depends how long you will spend in the place. I do quite a bit on the Internet, so a bigger condo would be better. However, they are pricey when you move up a size. Where I would like is, Pratamak hill, or Viewtalay 6...will have a good look next month.

Nothing stays the same sadly. I was thinking about buying a condo in Pattaya, but the appeal has reduced after the last trip as I also felt it was more and more like IBIZA used to be in the eighties...IE no magic.

Both above posts are true, but depends what your circumstances are, and what you are looking for. If settling down, then you look at a different market, and area..not Patts. If you want fun, and not want to pay rent all the time, especially if you are a long stayer, buying a small condo makes sense.

Looking at the way Thailand is changing, I would prefer to rent...you can walk way. If I had a partner, I would consider buying..assuming I was comfotable with trust and all that...whole new can of worms..lol
