  1. It's actually a special hallucinogenic spray. It makes you think you had a great time, drank 20 beers a night, had a stiffy like a flagpole and shagged 12/10 lookers every night, when the reality is you had 2 Changs and were sick, were as limp as macky's brain, and got fucked over by the 40 year old munters you paid for.
  2. It is snowing in parts of Australia now, however I'll be throwing prawns on my barbie and enjoying my outdoor spa with a few bevies at Christmas.
  3. I can help. This is a quick overview of diabetes and medications etc. Type 1 is when your pancreas produces no insulin. You need insulin injections to live. Type 2 is 'insulin resistance'. Your pancreas produces insulin, but the cells are resistant to it. Typically with Type 2, two medications are used, Metformin which helps the cells take in insulin (lowers resistance) and Gilclazide, which causes the pancreas to secrete more insulin. There are others but they are the main stay. Sometimes, when the maximum safe dose of the above drugs is reached, it is necessary for a Type 2 person to g
  4. Phew, I ordered it, thanks for not saying it is a waste of time! Fortunately I am pretty good at languages, I used to be semi-fluent in French, could carry on simple conversations in German, and had a smattering of Mandarin, enough to get me everything I wanted in China. I acknowledge that the methods of teaching I experienced at school (which worked for me then) will not work for a 46 year old alcohol drenched brain, and that is why I looked at this method. I have tried Pimsleur (downloaded for free) and didn't get anywhere really fast. I tried Benjwan Booker's (spelling) book and audio, pl
  5. Yes, was going to say the same thing, any travel agent will sort you out, door to door transport. There are many hotels on the strip we stayed on, I'm pretty sure it is White Sands Beech. There are loads of little kiosks on that strip who have tourist things to do. We only had 3 days and did an elephant ride one day and a boat trip with snorkling the next, both good. There's plenty of places to eat and drink, and the beech is nice.
  6. Confirmed by my gf who is a nurse.
  7. Off to work now but I'll write something for you when I get back.
  8. I've just tried some of my home-made chocolate chilli ice cream. It was delicious but wrong, so wrong. How can ice cream leave you thinking you need some yogurt to cool your mouth down. I think I'll have some more.
  9. I know it's an old post, I know it's the Thai way, and I know I will get flamed, but I seriously question the rationale of buying a 13 year old a motorbike of any kind. It is probably one of the best ways of not making it to 14. What did I read recently, 11,000 deaths on Thai roads, most on motorbikes. Sorry, if I had a 13 year old son/stepson, or anyone I cared about, I would not let them on, near, or even to say the word motorbike.
  10. Bush Pig, unfortunately I saw your post as a quote. West is not a proper noun. Try reading "The Style Manual for Editors, Authors and Proofreaders", it will tell you that you are wrong.
  11. The 'nanny welfare state' in which I was educated taught me the correct use of English and English grammar and I find it offensive that so-called native speakers can butcher the language so skilfully. How is your post accurate? It is simply your opinion, and from your last few posts it is clear that you have some sort of strange obsession with how the west is run. Up to you, obviously you are living in Thailand now, a third world country where life is cheaper than a bowl of rice, but you're happy, so stop whinging about the life you left behind and contribute something positive.
  12. Baan Worachan appartments on the ringroad, http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/baan...sor-t14426.html Their website is down but this is their entry on Udon Map. Best to book because they are very popular with Thai business men.Not much English spoken, get a Thai to book for you. The rooms are enormous, spotlessly clean, nice bathroom. I use Lek car rentals: http://www.lekcarrentaludonthani.com/ They may be a wee bit dearer than other places but they have the guaranteed insurance and will deliver the car to you when and where you want. Hope that all helps. I'll be in Udon t
  13. OK, let's talk education. Where did you learn to capatalise phrases like nanny welfare state? Not required, not correct, wrong. Now Asians working harder-where? In the UK perhaps, in Asia no. Pay less taxes, yes, get fuck all, yes. Even the scummiest stupid fuck in the west is taken care of because in the west we recognise they are people, even if they are scum and filth, in Asia nobody gives a flying fuck. Your understanding of economics is clearly a lot less than mine, and mine is lacking, but I know that things will come right again. You may have made Thailand your home, a
  14. Thanks for that, I read the thread and it seems to get the thumbs up, I'll buy it!
  15. http://www.highspeedthai.com/ Anyone tried it? The reasoning sounds pretty sound. Thanks.
  16. As has been states, Australians have faired well with the exchange rate and it has barely changed in the 5 years I have been going to Thailand, having said that our interest rates are just stupid at the moment meaning less money in your pocket. But again it's all about balances and airfares are getting cheaper and cheaper, thanks to competition from Air Asia and Tiger. Today, Jetstar are offering flights from Melbourne to Bangkok for $279, plus $20 for your luggage, so if the return fare is the same, that's $600 return. That is cheap. For me, living at the top of Australia, the neares
