It's hit and miss everywhere.About 18 months after 9/11,I had a small pair of surgical scissors with round tops in my carry on bag.Had been traveling with them since 9/11.Lots of traveling.Several trips to Mexico City as I was dating a lady there.Passing through security,they decided "that's a nice pair of scissors for me or my woman" and no matter how much I protested,they weren't getting through.So I walked back to the Delta counter and gave them to a friend of mine there,so these clowns wouldn't have the pleasure. At the time,I was a Ground Security Coordiantor for my airline,and prior to 9/11,myself and other coordinators were responsible for the checkpoint,so I was fully aware of what the regs were regarding carryons.To this day,it's awful.Just this evening,there was a video of TSA giving a full patdown to a 6 yo girl,shown on national news.Way over the top and against their policy.

Funny you mention that becasue most Thai ladies are cold in the movies anyway.Just imagine during Soak-Kran.

An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. Spike,you were wrong about time/distance to locations and you are wrong about the breakfast at PBR,"don't give too much thought to the free breakfast...it ain't nothing to write home about...and even if I woke up at dusk, I wouldn't eat hot dogs for breakfast". Really! The menu has several hot items,a cold choice of cereal & yougurt and a Thai choice or 2 for your rental.Let's not forget the juice and coffee or tea.I'd say it's worth 75-90b and it's really convenient if you want to stay inside because of the wx or you want to regain some "power" for the last round before you send your rental packing.Or if you're too lazy go off property. I've only stayed 3 times with 2 weeks being the longest.

It's the only place I've stayed during visits.High marks all around. But I have to disagree with sapike (that pronunciation).It's a 10-12 minute walk to Walking Street or faster on motosai.Or walk to Beach Rd and spend 10 baht for the 2 minute ride to WS.Heading the other direction is even faster. Kim the owner is attentive and I see him all over town.The breakfast on the roof is a good start to your day if you get up that early.Some folks complain about the size of the pool but I find it perfect-not to big or small. Let the (non) myth continue.
