E-Mail for Residence Garden?
JohnJr replied to Grandpollo's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
All of the rooms have balconies with plastic tables and chairs. The laundry across the street charges maybe 200 baht for 3-4 days of laundry. I have not really used the in house laundry but would quess it could be double. Just go and enjoy your self, every thing will sort it self out, you will make a few mistakes, we all have and still do. And it will not be long before you book your return trip. -
E-Mail for Residence Garden?

Their e-mail is ottesen@loxinfo.co.th. The wi-fi was spotty last month, some days it worked and some days it did not. The internet cafe next door is now closed. They accept Visa, and will hold a room without an apparent charge. Still my favorite place to stay in Pattaya. John -
A Bar you can Talk and be Heard in
JohnJr replied to Travellers Rest's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I spent a lot of time with Fergus and his staff at the Travellers rest, as a begginer golfer, I always felt welcome. The score did not matter, but whether I was enjoying myself seemed more important to Fergus. I am looking forward to coming back. -
I like the RG, I get the feeling of coming home, the sofa's sometimes smell bad, and I am sure they have been well used.

I have been succesful many times getting a first class award seat, LAX or SFO to BKK, It is well worth the 140,000 or so air miles, lay flat seats, pajamas. The availablity of the first class award seats seem to really open up from 1 month-5 days before the travel date. I highly recomend if you get the chance. I had one set for last week, darn! Maybe I will try again in January.

I would buy at home and bring with you. I didn't see any deals in lOS, maybe fakes. You can get some deals on e-bay 1-2 year old clubs for about half price.

I would give it a miss. I stopped in March for some drinks and appetizers. The place was almost empty. Ordered a prawn cocktail, the prawns looked good but turned out to be mushy. The waitress never came back so I was unable to complain. I ended up just paying my tab and left vowing never to return.

It seems that the three 5 star hotels in the Sukhumvit area that you are likely to get are the Westin, Sheraton, Jw Marriot. I believe, all are ok with guests. Last year I got the Jw for $54 plus $17 taxes in July and November. Watching the biddingfortravel.com site it seems like it is now taking a priceline bid of $70-$75 plus taxes. A little more than I'm willing to pay. It was a good deal while it lasted. I will try again in a couple of days. John

I got turned down for the 5 star hotels on sukhumvit at $55.00 yesterday. I will wait and try $60.00 for a March 5-7 stay. Appears the great $54.00 deals are gone for now. John

Info on Westin Grande Hotel Bangkok?
JohnJr replied to winner's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I actually tried to get into the Westin Grand earlier in the month and couldn't get any good rates. I preferred the location, easy walk to Soi cowboy, close to Asoke skytrain, girl friendly, overall pleasant experiencel last October. Maybe not quite as nice as the JW but close. -

I also got the JW on priceline for a bid of $55.00 total price $71.00. July 15,16, 20. I did not have to go through priceline Hong Kong. -
Thanks for the post. Looks Like I'm coming back sooner than I had planned. Tried to get a buddy one, but it had already ended. See you all July 7-17. Yahoooo!
