nidnoyham, no offence but Fred Perry and Ben Sherman aint seen as designer makes.... if you shop around you`ll get Ben Shermans for £20 a shirt (i wear these for work due to then lasting long) in england. If you buy them from poncefest shops like UFC, activeleasure, republic etc you`ll py a hefty mark up. makes that are worth the thai`s making snides of are... Burburry, Lacost, Armani, Prada, D & G, Ck, Ralph Lauren, Boss etc difference between above and Sherman/Perrys are ones above are international brands, and while perry is big in the tennis market, it aint seen as a fasion brand elsewhere outside of england. But, if your only after above, take a print out of the labels you want embroided, get some shirts made at a taylors in pattaya, and they`ll add them on for very small cost. Very good copy of the logo`s as well. I had some nice silk shirts made up for work, and got the Boss logo put on, they are the DB`s and no one can tell they are fakes.

Ben i got 5 from the white barrow in the big mall in the middle of pattaya (mikes i think, near the KFC, Burger king and Mcdonalds) Barter like hell over the course of a few days with them though, and let him know your buying in "bulk" as prices start at silly high, i eventully got him down to 9 pound a piece... also these are wind up/arm movement powered... buy them the first week of your holiday to make sure they work... one of them turned out to be a dud a few days after getting home. Worth buying a few more than requested to sell on when you get home.... the blue faced ones are very nice..... Also get some OAKLEY shade fakes, i made a fourtune on selling them when i got home... bought them for 150 bhat a piece, sold them between 10 and 20 pounds when i got home... I have a list of 15 people wanting them when i return in a few weeks....

mmmmm no doubt there will be a few thai boys added to the squad, but doubt to see them in the first team for a while.... Did read in the Daily Express today the deal involves a new shirt sponsor... none other than Elephant Beer! Should suit Dieter Hamann, with the size of his nose! Is the Shin Corp the same people who make Shin Cup Noodles? they are bloody lovley.. any pot noodle fans in england look out for these, they are a real treat for such cuisine... but watch the spicy one though, it burns your mouth off!

Returning to Penthouse - Quick Questions
G replied to G's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
aardvark - cheers for the info, i sent three faxes and three e-mails and heard nothing back... > they aint charged my card either so to hell with them... we have booked the flipper lodge instead!!! While we enjoyed it last year, the complaints of cock roaches and lack of a yes or no from them has cost them our booking.... nevermind.. the flipper seems to get a glowing reference from all who have been... roll on april the 6th !!!! ;D G -
I used a taylor called Baron on walking street... Again two fittings were needed but the two suits i got are the dogs bollox! one black, one charcoal grey, excellent Armani linings, armani buttons etc i got the two suits, with waist coats, and three pair of additional pants and two additianl waist coats all for 175 pound, a lot of bartering had to be done but i doubt i could of them got any lower. He also adjusted various other items of my clothing for free afterwards. Custom shirts are spot on as well, i can remember paying 500bhat for work shirts and 700 for better dress silk ones. All top notch and have lasted well for me at work. You can get various labels or embroiding on at a small extra cost. Just my two pence worth but i reconmend popping your head in and see what he can offer...... Just beware of his kids that like to repeatedly crash into the dozey farangs on their peddle bikes!!!!!

I agree with VoxVadar, i have two DVD players, one freezes up on some copies and one doesnt, the one that freezes up also struggles with long films on one disk such as Scarface on original DVDs as well. Always worth going for a mid range player or above...... I also had one the same as you Landy2A, in matrix about halfway through a loud cough is heard then a family of four walk towards the camera! rest of it is fine though.... I have found the VCD`s in the bigger Big C (just outta the resort) great value, got 10 for 300bhat, mainly older titles but complete originals, watch you dont get Thai dubbed films though.... but not all DVD players will play VCD`s. Only player i have found that will play anything is the Phillips multi-regional range..... usually about 90 pound sterling plus though... but all DVD`s, DVD-R, VCD`s, CD-R, Kodak pic cds, MP3 etc etc alll work superb... guess it all comes down to you get what you pay for!!!

Me and my band of merry men have just booked up to return to Dudleys Funhouse - aka the Penthouse on Pattayaland 2 in april. Has anyone recently stayed there? if so what is the new pool like? is there any new scams happening to watch out for? (last year mystery mini bar bills was about the only one i had trouble with) Has the Kats nightclub improved? ??? Cheers G (not taking the limo servide this year!!!)

funny you should mention the A/C, i did have a hell of a heavy chest when stopping there, i put it down to spending to much time in damp lower regions!

Yo chaps, Firstly sorry for not replying, i dont get much of a chance to get on the net at the mo! but thank you to the lads for answering the questions! As for Pete. you are the biggest perv of our group, by all accounts the only thing you didnt have the girls do was a "Ralphie!" (for those not in the know watch series 4, episode 3 of the Soprano`s) Me and Paul are saving to get you the Siporetto wig! Still aint that whats its about, floating your boat in strange and wonderful waters..... ah happy memories! (except being the only sod to go TWICE to a massage for parlour, ask for a two hour oily and give the girls a wink, and only come away with my stiff back sorted! > :-/ :'( ) G`ster

Penthouse is very much one of them hotels that you see on tacky "insight in swinging documentrys" broadcast in the early hours of a sunday on some low budget cable channel. But it has a welcoming human side. The room rates vary from bloody cheap to jesus christ! how much!. But as the saying goes, one mans ceiling is another mans floor. I stayed in one of the "manilla" rooms, which compaired to my two travel companions i seemed to score as it was larger and cooler than their higher rate rooms. We booked up via the net, and opted for the "champaign limo" service for 11,500bht each. First hitch occured when only two cars were sent for the three of use, so we packed the biggest perv of our group off on his own leaving myself and another to share two girlys in the rather cramped rear of a toyota. Limo also being a loosly used term, as it was nothing more than a decent family car. We also got tapped for the road tolls if we wanted to get there quick. So after being praticly force fed two bottles of cheap fizzy stuff we were on our way. The girls were friendly enough and patted and stoked us at random intervils, but it wasnt the 5 star, relaxing massage service etc as we thought. Other body blow was after getting to the hotel, and spending a few hours with you the girls then wanted 2000bht each. Bit of a rip i think.... The hotel is a stone throws from the beach and walking street, superb location. The hotel itself is a bit of a old building, but the staff are superb with your room being cleaned and tidied twice a day. It seems to be in a programm of constant updating. It aint exactly superb decor, but its clean and has a lot of character. My room was of decent size, lots of mirrors (yes on ceiling) a huge bed with a dual sided matress (hard and soft) a decent sized shower/wc, cd player, cable tv, and a rather ample air con unit. Services provided are laundry, 24h room service, well stocked mini bar, all at very cheap prices. My friend who upgraded to one of the party rooms on the top floor had a 4 person jacuzi, a sex swing, dancing podium, huge bed, DVD player, two balconys etc etc, a real play room, but i couldnt see the jusifacation for the huge extra cost. He did mumble about it not having a toilet door, and having a passion for Thai currys he would find himself popping to the lobby w.c. to shed his smelly loads when he had company! Other services i took advanage of is the postage, having sent a number of things back to the UK, the hotel take your goods, wrap them, post them registered and give you a full receipt for a added 100bht, bargain! Also they have internet access, giving for a limited free time to residents. In short my room was big, clean, comfy and well serviced. The hotel was very welcoming, with good priced tasty food 24/7 and they dont batter an eye lid at who or how many people you bring back. The free safty deposit box is a real bonus. The Kitten club was a bit of a let down, the girls only seem to put effort into playing pool, or taking the piss out of each others farang pick up. the girls on the dance poles only seem to be going through the motions. Those without a chap then try and tap unattended farangs while the other girl is away. Not the best of atmospheres. Mamasan didnt seem that bothered at her girls behaviour as well, probs why their a bit wild. But beer is cheap and some of the girls are real honeys. Good: My room, the service staff, extra services offered, food, price, location, relaxed atmosphere Bad: Champiagn pickup - its a con, kitten club girls lack of effort. Price of the party rooms
