  1. I am not a fan of reposting articles and I originally planned to put this in the Syria topic but being a hoax and kind of funny, I post it here. It has very little to do with John Cleese, being a hoax, let alone writing it as the OP claims. The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have bee
  2. It does look like fun, I'll try it next time when there. Although not a true fan of Marvin the Martian lookalike robots, I'm sure the kids will love it
  3. That is a very nice pic, Martin. Thanks for the report, Evil, I like that place too, the food is good and the price is fair. Eat there at least once on each trip.
  4. Well, this is what the Thais say about their own currency. Also, all currency predictions are just speculations but I would still prefer a more impartial analysis on this.
  5. Exactly. All raw material comes prepared, all you have to do is decide how far you'd like to go with the grilling. They bring you the marinade, so you may add more ans vary it if you like, and the main thing is that you do your own combination. My wife knew exactly what she wanted. You have a la carte option but we choose the all you can eat since it seemed very popular and seemingly a lot of fun. You always have a girl there to assist you if needed.
  6. With an attitude like Jacko's there's no point of going out, period. BTW if you've ever visited such places you'll find that there's no such thing as "sweating over the hot stove". It's a combination of proper a/c with adequate ventilation.
  7. It is guest friendly and is an OK hotel. Nothing special, though, I personally prefer the Dawin, myself, in that price range.
  8. By the staff mostly, the girl you see here was 'ours' but her task was mostly to keep the fire burning for we preferred to do the cooking. Now Benihana was quite different, where the skills of the chef are part of the deal but that does show in the prices as well. I'm sure it is the same here also by request. Wonder if others have such experience.
  9. Japanese cook-it-yourself style restaurant in Central Festival. Not cheap but very good and if you're hungry, then it'll become cheap for it's also all-you-can-eat. Quite entertaining as well.
  10. The wonderful Natasha Richardson, rip...
  11. You have very limited possiblities if using the presets, like these are a bit too green. Go to levels and play with red/green/blue highlights and midrange colors. You can do wonders but of course it's all easy in raw.
  12. Sitting outside is the main attraction for me - other than the food itself, of course. I can't recall ever being so hot that the place would become unpleasant to sit, each table is nicely ventillated by a fan from the top. Since there is hardly any vehicle traffic on soi 7, exhaust is not an issue either.
  13. What do they say about great minds? I've been going there for the smoked salmon since 2009 but a bit weary about European food in Thailand. I don't like white toast and was only able to convince her twice to bring me German rye bread(or was it maybe Norwegian as she claimed but I seriously doubt it) and I'm missing the capers and some balsamic vinegar but we can't have it all (I wouldn't even mention fresh dill for she would write me off as a total weirdo). Other than the smoked salmon, all their Thai dishes are great (the only funny thing is the Craft cheese on the pineapple rice). I love
  14. Thanks for the tip Evil, but please don't tell her about it just yet Poor baby lives in the slums and happy with just about anything I take her to.
  15. Well, TBH the bakery was nothing to shout about in comparison to an average French patisserie. Don't get me wrong, they have nice things but at 5 star prices, and since the traffic is low, everything is pretty stale. We just had a few snacks from there and ate outside. Much to my regret, I didn't check out the night club but some Thai guys complained in the elevator that it's expensive as hell.
  16. Not sure you'll need the extra aperture for da nude :) Nice to have it for the extra light and the bokeh, though... It may not be any better but here is what I've meant earlier(hope you don't mind me messing with it, not much difference at this size anyway but if you shoot raw it may be a world...):
  17. That's a beautiful lens indeed. My fav lens is also a 50mm but being a die hard Olympus user, mine is not fast at all. Though about getting the Pana lens but with the new 12-60mm SWG lens in site that would be a unnecessary and a waste of money. I always have trouble with the red and blue neon lights with the nightlife shots but I guess some post production will take care of that as before.
