It's mentioned on the Thai Airways website now. It extends the suspension deadline each month I have noticed. But ticket use has been extended until December 2022 (if the airline even exists by then). https://www.thaiairways.com/en_GB/news/news_announcement/news_detail/covid_19.page Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, and the continuous immigration restrictions and governmental measures imposed by several countries, THAI has been forced to extended the temporary suspension of its international operations until the end of December 2020.

I have 2 different return flights booked over Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021, international from/to London. Today Thai Airways cancelled all of them. Looks like Christmas is cancelled and the forseeable future. Plus their big peak season in the gutter. Will they survive after this, and many other places come to that?

Thai Airways TG916 has come into London 3 times in the past week. The latest one was about 10 minutes ago. Then TG917 has gone to Bangkok, 2 times so far but likely the 3rd one tonight as they turn the plane around. They are A350 planes. Is Bangkok Airport still closed to all except Thai's?

For years I have used the services of westeasttravel.com to book flights to Thailand. They usually offer the best prices and never have any problems with them. They have just ceased trading. Anyone with tickets (such as myself) are being referred on to the airlines directly for any bookings/changes/refunds..

New Terminal 2 opened at Heathrow Airport this morning. Starting off with flights from United Airlines only then slowly introducing others including all of Star Alliance. Thai Airways and Eva will start flying from Terminal 2 on 2nd July 2014. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-27691651 http://www.heathrowairport.com/heathrow-airport-guide/terminal-2

It came down again, I booked at £449 for early next year. But at these prices they will sell out very soon. It was cheaper on the WestEast website, cheaper than Etihad's own website.

Heathrow airport has warned airlines that passengers could face 12-hour delays next week when immigration officers go on strike over pensions. Chief operating officer Norman Boivin said there was a danger of "gridlock". Heathrow operator BAA has been holding talks with airlines and the UK Border Agency to try to minimise the impact of Wednesday's public sector strike. PM David Cameron said it was clear there would be an impact at ports and airports but borders would be secure. "At the very least there will be longer queues and people will have to wait longer at borders," his spokesman

Thai Airways UK website has an advert on it saying that from 15th December they will have seat-back TVs in Economy Also this news on the long-awaited A380 aircraft:- THAI has set a tentative date of January 2013 for the operation of its A380-800 operating on its Bangkok-London service. Bigger individual TV screens will be the big improvement in Economy Class and there will be a total of over 500 seats on this aircraft. Thanks for the responses. The battery is something to consider. I have now found an iPhone.

I know that the iPhone 4 can now be found in Pattaya. But what I am looking for is the older iPhone 3GS Is it still possible to buy this in places such as Tuc Com for a reasonable price? Or do any members on here have an iPhone 3GS for sale due to a recent upgrade? I am after genuine iPhones only, not a copy or clone. I don't mind if it's used, locked or unllocked to a network, as long as it's fully working.

Last night (Sunday 13th February) at 11pm a Thai lady fell from the 9th floor of Yensabai Condo in South Pattaya. I am informed that she had a farang husband. Don't have any more details at the moment as to what caused this death.

This talk of the DWP randomly checking up on people at airports is interesting., but I can't see why DWP are noseying into people going abroad. By benefits, does that mean unemployment, or disability, or even state pension? There is talk in Parliament of making the state pension applicable to 'residents' only, so maybe this is all part of the forthcoming fascist plan.

There is a distinct risk that the ash cloud from the volcano could be coming back over southern UK from tomorrow, for at least 2 days. If so then Heathrow and other airports are under threat again. Just announced on the BBC News Channel.

http://www.travelmole.com/stories/1141676.php?mpnlog=1 SYDNEY - Another day and another incident involving Qantas. A Boeing 747 operating Qantas Flight 1 from Bangkok to London Heathrow this morning experienced a surge in one of its four engines shortly after take-off at 0100 local time. The captain of the aircraft shut down that engine and returned to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, landing at approximately 0230 local time. In a statement, Qantas said there was no safety issue at any stage – “Boeing 747 aircraft can fly normally on three engines. Engine surges do not occur re

Then what are all the rest of the "taxes" amounting to £225? Would sure like to know the breakdown of it all. Even this cut-and-paste from Thai's own web site (www.thaiairways.com)mentions "taxes" of £262.10 Travellers Flights Taxes 1 adult(s) x (406.00 + 262.10) = 668.10 GBP total for all travellers 668.10 GBP

If you go to the WestEast web site and put in a flight from London to Bangkok it comes up for example as:- Thai Airways in May £310 for the actual ticket BUT then add on £290 for the tax!!! I can't see any justification for a tax hike/rip off/scam of 94%

Good to report that the Air Con has been fixed. My girlfriend came up with a number from somewhere (don't know where) and they came out the same day. Did an excellent job, topped up the gas, and now it's nice and cold. As to the shower in the end we went back to the shop where we brought the shower as got fed up with the condo engineer not knowing his job. The shop engineer came out and fixed the problem, something to do with the part where the water comes into the shower (don't ask me) so now it's finally working after an entire month of "Isssan type of showers" (cold). He also e

Forgot to mention that the condo office tells me that it is a 1MB link. That's why I think the 1,000 Baht a month is a bit steep. That's dearer than the UK.

My air-con unit (a Mitsubishi Electric Mr Slim unit) is not as cold as it should be and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good place or person in Pattaya who can service this unit? Or even what it would roughly cost? Also I have just had a brand new electric shower unit fitted by the on-site condo engineer. But it keeps "overloading" as he calls it and has to keep on being reset to work. I think he doesn't know what he is doing as I have called him in 4 times but it still keeps on "overloading". I took the cover off myself to look and it appears it is not even earthed. So same

Just wanted to add to this that I got internet installed. It was extremely quickly and only took 1 hour from start to finish as the condo building is already wired-up in the corridors. The office here told me it is TT&T and Maxnet (I take it is Maxnet, as she sounded like saying 'Magnet'!). It does seem expensive though at 1,000 Baht per month but they have a captive audience here as it seems to be the only option you get. You buy a package for a fixed period only, such as 1 week, 1 month, etc. so there is no ongoing costs if you are not here for a while or do not need it.

Please note that the TG917 flight on 19th June has NOT been cancelled. This information comes from Thai Airways, it is still scheduled to fly as planned.

I have heard back from my girlfriend and she has said that the condo reception have said "2,500 Baht to install, and then 1,000 Baht each month after that, to have internet. Oh and can install the very same day." She doesn't know anything else right now such as what company that is with, or the speed of the internet package, etc. Seems a bit steep to install the line as the wiring is already there. Anyway do these prices look about right?

It seems as though the condo management "recommend" TOT. I am not in Pattaya at the moment so I can't check this first hand. But lets say I have to have a TOT phone line, can I then have internet from any company I choose?
