Great post Alfred you are spot on. I am almost 3 years into it and I still battle with the pyschological issues. I've just fell in love with the potential so I keep on picking myself up. If you want this it is definately going to test your resolve. James16 has given me the edge but learning to accept the losses and move on is still a challenge. In the heat of the moment it's easy to forget that your playing a numbers game, and that you have to stay in the game long enough for your edge to assert itself. The awesome power of compounded interest makes it possible to make a good living but it can just as quickly become your enemy. I wouldn't tell anyone to risk real money unless they have traded a demo account for at least 6 months profitable in a row. If you have a losing month, start over. You'd be surprised how long that can take, about 3 years so far...

Luckily for those that put in the time to learn from him, James does enjoy teaching what he has learned over 25 years of trading. I think I stated that you don't have to spend a dime to learn. Watch the videos for free...and then follow up is available at forexfactory. Download a demo and practice until you are confident. Read books by Mark Douglas on trading psychology, and up to you.

James teaches trading based on Price Action and Support and Resistance. Sounds like support and resistance training is what you need because you will learn where to put your stop with high level of confidence and also what levels are good for profit taking. Automated systems, I wouldn't bother. Put your time into something that will always work, and build a skill that nobody can take from you. Watch the videos and see what I mean, James16 is just a good person and very knowledgable.

I know there is a ton of crap out there advertising this system or that. Mostly it's someone trying to seperate you from your money, but I have found a guy that is truly genuine and teaches people to trade over time. The best part is you can learn enough from him for free, just takes time and practice. He has a site James16 with about 30 guest videos you can download for free. Also there is an ongoing thread at ForexFactory where like minds help each other to learn to be profitable. This is not something you will pick up over night, but if you are dedicated to demo and listen to what the man says in a couple years you can have success. If you have been interested in learning something that can help you out down the road then maybe this is for you. I think it would be xtra cool to pay your barfines with a few pips you made someday lol.

Yea the whole torrent thing is pretty cool for tv shows and movies, just make sure you have your virus protection setup and up to date. It's a good idea to get one of those portable hard drives and make a backup of everything that is important to you just in case. I just recently learned that lesson the hard way.

Trading very well may be one of the hardest ways to make money in the world but it's also the best business in the world IMHO... "What one man can do...another can do." I really believe that.

You can read Kelly and books by Ralph Vince etc...but really if you have a trading plan that has a decent edge then 1% per trade, more or less, should be adequate enough. If your system is a loser in the long term then no MM scheme will work. I've been studying a while now and I have a couple systems I just need to do some optimizing and I'll be ready to go live. I know the characteristics of the systems and I am prepared for the drawdowns, this will be a long term aspiration for me that I take very seriously. I hope to someday be able to spend 6 mos a year in LOS with FOREX helping me accomplish it. Books I recommend: Way of the Turtle by Curtis Faith, Long Term Secrets to Short Term Trading by Larry Williams, Day Trading with Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakouts by Toby Crabel... These mostly center around Futures but alot is applicable to trading forex as well.

Day trading will be very hard to accomplish, but there a several old reliable methods to trade profitably. None will be get rich quick and there will be drawdowns. I suggest looking into Volatility Breakout methods and stick to the ones that seem the more simple. Simple works you just have to learn to trade through the drawdowns that will unevitably occur.

You could begin learning to trade currency. You can demo for free for as long as u like. I have been in demo mode since Jul 07. It takes awhile to build the discipline but it can be very profitable.

On secong the price it would cost to stay at RG for a whole month is too high for me. I need to look for something cheaper.

How fast is the speed a RG? Anyone know the Mbps? Also are you guys finding it reliable? I'm taking some online classes and I'm considering bringing my work with me.

Shit_Happens, If you don't mind my asking, how do you go about renting your condo when you are out of the country? Meaning does View Talay assist you in any way? Giving them the keys, payment, etc. I'm just curious as to the complications involved and part View Talay plays. Thanks.

Sunny, Yea the Talay Residence sounds nice and alot more affordable than the Villas. Sounds like you're going all out on yours. Which design is it of the three? Seems this company is a good one and will continue to build nice projects, lets hope.

Shilo- Dumb question here guessing you don't earn FF miles on any reward flights? So I see your game. Basically keeping yourself in super duper eilte and racking up the FF miles at 2.25 per mile. I can understand your wanting to continue to see the pile grow... Yea just hope NW doesn't go under. :'(
