Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
CheshireTom replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
Not bad, power on a month after the first aircraft was due to be delivered. Boeing has taken 896 orders for the plane, as of today it hasn't sold any. That puts it in the same territory as the A350XWB. How's the visa coming along? -
being set next to the pumping station detracts somewhat from the "brilliant location". As far as the girls are concerned, the view is exactly the same as they get from their "offices" under the trees on Beach Road.

Being French isn't a crime. There again, given the ramblings in the US media, maybe it is. -

Yep, their concept of a free market is somewhat skewed ................ "SaveAB.com says it “investigated” Dehaene to learn of his role in the European Union’s governing body. Its statement adds: “It is wrong for an American company to be taken over by a board comprised of a voting EU member” stated Ed Martin, a founder of SaveAB.com. “This man is setting policy for the EU and impacting the American economy – he clearly has a confict of interest. This indicates yet another reason that the InBev hostile takeover must fail.” Politicians on the board of companies ............ whatever next? -

Possibly, but if they are it seems to indicate that the USAF is a bit incompetent when it comes to spending billions of taxpayer dollars. -

That doesn't exactly come as a shock, does it. American defense jobs going to those nasty French ........ . Hub, I'll be the first one to hold up my hands and admit that I called that wrong. All credit to the procurement people for staying focussed on choosing the best bit of kit for the job and ignoring the xenophobic furore that went beforehand and has intensified since. That said, given the comments since the award of the contract we're still someway away from the order being seen as being politically acceptable ......... which was the point of the post. -

LOL. The Bobin woman must have gone to the same school as BigD ........... She ain't having much luck with this investment lark, is she? ''This company seduced hundreds of thousands of people,'' says Danielle Bobin, a Paris public-works employee who bought 6,000 Eurotunnel shares 12 years ago for $18,000. Now the shares are worth $6,000. For Bobin and fellow shareholders, what once looked like the deal of a lifetime may never pay off. -

It must be a bit of a bummer for her to find out that he's away to rough up some Asian prostitutes again. There again, she's probably chuffed. I wonder what she'll think later in life when she looks back on her teenage years and remembers that he preferrred the company of prostitutes and was never there for her when she wanted. Kinda sad. -

Nothing wrong with my comprehension. This is what you wrote ...... The Thai Embassy doesn't require any documents for a retirment visa for no other reason than they don't issue them. -

It's a condition of their ATOL membership in the UK that the tickets are issued within 24 hours of payment being received unless the flight is part of a package.

Those pesky French designers, eh? And I thought the design of the 747 was inspired by the writings of Victor Hugo. -

Just goes to prove that if they were as good at building aircraft as they are at selling them then they might have been the #1 manufacturer by now. Unfortunately, they're not. -
...... just say three Hail Marys and you are forgiven.

Precision Reservations was part of Agoda and the whole thing is now part of Priceline. There was some crap with Precision last year where their name was being copied by another site and hence the retreat back under the agoda umbrella ........ http://www.precisionreservations.com/ and http://www.precisionreservation.com/ That said, agoda is good for searching out what hotels are available but their failure to include the tax and service charges until you reach the payment stage pisses me off and therefore I use other agents to book or book directly with the hotel.

Predictions. Predictions. It doesn't seem so long ago that you were wagering Airbus would be out of business by now. How about Boeing overtaking Airbus as the number 1 aircraft producer. -

C'mon, Scally. You haven't exactly got a very good record at this prediction lark, have you? "On time and to spec" and all that nonsense. -
Because a flight is cheap does not necessarily make it a good deal, only a cheap deal. Shitty aircraft, 5 hour layover in Helsinki, cramped seating and no IFE ........... just the way to get your trip off to a good start.

That just about sums it up. They don't even know who's building the aeroplane. -

Err, you assume there is nothing wrong with the technology ....... but since it ain't been tested yet that's a very big assumption. Almost a year from roll-out to power-on. Yes, tremendous progress. -

The story is old news and has moved on somewhat. Two planes will be delayed by 8-10 weeks next year. Meanwhile, Boeing's 900 787s are currently looking at delays well in excess of two years. And the thing ain't out the factory yet. Aeroflot expects 28-month 787 delay; AirTran defers 737s Posted at 11:33 am by Michelle Dunlop Russian carrier Aeroflot won’t see its first Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliner until 2016 at the earliest. That’s 28 months late. Boeing already acknowledged that it will push back the delivery of the first 787 until the third quarter of 2009. It originally planned to hand over the first Dreamliner to Japan’s All Nippon Airways this month. Subsequent deliveries have been pushed back 20 months on average, Boeing has said. But Aeroflot’s general director Valery Okulov told reporters the Russian airline expects its delivery to take even longer than average. “We have received official notification, the delay is 28 months,” he said, in this Reuters story. Aeroflot has ordered 22 Boeing 787s. -

Where have you been. I've just updated your CV to include the Auto fender repair workshop failure. You're way behind the times .... the UK government has already invested heavily in the future composite wing venture ........ as is allowed by WTO and EU rules. Airbus will lead the research on behalf of the government.
