I take it you must have booked these flights yourself as airlines will not allow such a short transfer time. I think the minimum is 90 mins. If they did indeed book the 2 flights together and if you miss your connection, ask them to put you on the next plane by any airline (e.g. Air China) to BKK. I would contact them before you go, like today. I would also be very sceptical as to whether my baggage would make the connecting flight, even if you did. There really is not enough time and you could end up in BKK with no clothes. Take something in carry on.

Looking for room in December 03
torrenova replied to jakehunter's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I think Ib has some friends over at Christmas and New Year so the RG is busy. I think if you want to stay there at New Year you'd have to book 6 months plus in advance. -
I considered Tims for the last trip in October mainly due to location. However, the rooms look really strange on the website and emails requesting some information just came back without answering my questions. I should have popped in during my stay but I had too many other things to do. Stayed at the RG again.

Hard Rock guest friendly?
torrenova replied to Cumcannon's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
It did seem to be one which wanted to operate a policy of no unregistered guests overnight. Of course, you could just register a different girl each night to piss them off if they were really anal about it. On the other hand, you could stay somewhere else. -

You're a bit late but you should be OK as the main rush will be over the Xmas and New Year holidays. You need to state your budget and where you wnat to be (if you know). For a start, look at these: Try the Residence Garden offer link through this website. Bt1350 all in per day and for me, the top hotel at that price in Pattaya. http://www.pattaya-hotel.com http://pattaya.sawadee.com/hotels/index.html http://www.res24.net/sawadee.com/pattaya/hotels Come back through the board with your budget etc. -
Bars in soi7/8 will be open but very low key. Might be better to keep a girl for a couple of days when the buddah days are in force.

You should definately get booked up now if you know where you want to go. In fact, you have already left it too late to have a full choice available. If going for 8 days, then I suggest staying in Bangkok at the beginning for say 3 days and then heading off for Pattaya. Either way, you should get your skates on and secure some accommodation as the choice will continue to dry up as time progresses.

The most comfortable rooms in Pattaya
torrenova replied to mrstein's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Queen size is bigger than King size !!!!!!! Isn't the Areca Lodge the one where they had the safe deposit boxes robbed some time ago ? Also on the other side of 2nd road so potential for roadkill there !! -
If you're on the way out to Jomtien, try the Sugar Hut on the road between Pattaya and Jomtien. If in Pattaya, I'd go to where the Thais eat - just avoid the farangs. If that fazes you a little for your first trip then try the places on Walking Street. Not cheap by Thai standards but nothing that will break the bank. For a different atmosphere, try Vientainne on 2nd road. Has very good Thai and Lao food, which is particularly good for Issan girls as they tend to like the Loa stuff, particularly if they are from the very North.

Anything big should be closed, as should anything small !!!. Seriously, some places will have a sort of "members only" policy, going in through the back door etc. or knocking on the door etc. Maybe some on Soi8 might open but I'd have a take away for a couple of days. Even tell her 2 days before as she might want to combine it with her day off and go somewhere with friends. I suggest making yourself known to the managers of a couple of go-gos and getting their cards and then asking then the next day about Dec 5

I don't think you can fly into Pattaya from Kuala Lumpur, only from Koh Samui and Phuket and maybe somewhere else. Fly into Bangkok and get a taxi to Pattaya for around Bt1500.

Helicopter Transfer Bangkok to Pattaya
torrenova replied to Taxi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Older planes fall out of the sky more often than new ones. Older planes also end up with the shittest airlines with the least cash to maintain or repair them. Wonder if there is some connection ? -
Tips ? Yeah, practice your typing, grammar and spelling. Seriously though. Go through the newbie section here, on nanaplaza.com and nanapong.com. Try not to act like a kid in a sweet shop when mummy is not around. Perhaps make a rough plan. You will arrive in Bangkok first - do you want to stay there a few days ? How long wil you be in Pattaya ?Where will you stay ? What is your budget ? Do you know how things work out there ? Watch for the 3rd sex, katoeys, more commonly known as ladyboys, not to be confused with ladydrinks. Try not to get too pissed. Don't carry loads of cash

Will be flying in on the Thai Air overnight from London to Bangkok on Friday 10th October at 21:25, arriving Saturday 11th October at 15:00. Potentially going to Nana area or Pattaya. Undecided as yet, due to APEC crackdown and waiting for updated first hand information. Will be taxi either way, could split it if going to Pattaya. Post here if interested.

Proximity to Walking Street is get a baht bus. What you are looking at is in Jomtien, not in south Pattaya. I must admit, at Bt600 it looks OK or long stay at Bt11,900 per month plus electric and water. However, it is way out and if you spend your days in Pattaya, travelling back and forth will piss you off. maybe about 15 plus minutes on the bus each way. I think you can get similar day rates in Pattaya but unlikely to get the same value with facilities for the long term. You could get a condo though for Bt8000-12000

Looking for a good hotel with friendly guest polic
torrenova replied to numan's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Low season is up until the end of October. However, if you really want to stay there, it is unlikely that anyone else will book the suite so make them a walk in offer, or book a normal room and offer to upgrade at a price which suits you. I would be surprised if they did not consider it. -
Helicopter Transfer Bangkok to Pattaya
torrenova replied to Taxi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Maybe not if you look at how long the current train takes to get from Bangkok to Pattaya. Many Thai trains are old Japanese rolling stock pensioned off thirty years ago. -
new visa fee ;500 baht now 700 ?
torrenova replied to aj's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Bt500 to exit, isn't that just like airport tax, nothing to do with visas, which you would have to get before arrival ?
