Well the guiness book of records has it down that an exponant of Wing Tsun holds the record for the number of consecutive attacks. 700 in one minute. However, I can find no video of the feat itself. I can find many videos of the 'chain punch' in use though, but I can see no evidence that these attacks are 'hard' or 'accurate'. Having the physical stamina is one thing, but whilst someone is raining down a hail of semi-targeted, reduced force blows ...... it only takes one 'lucky' punch, firm grapple or accurate sweep as a counter to completely upset the balance. You were the one who introduced the 'protecting loved ones' scenario. Additionally, as you rightly say the approach you would take and how you would react depends on who you were fighting. In my, fairly extensive, experience I have never seen anyone attacked by a martial artist ..... I have, however, seen many many martial artists defend themselves or their loved ones. Just about every 'fight' i have ever seen has involved alcohol to some degree. Depending on proximity ..... the shortest distance between two points is actually the head to the nose. Not exactly queensbury rules ...... but in most fights i've seen, the winner is the last man standing. 2nd Dan Shotokan Karate ........ this has afforded me confidence, balance and the physics of a punch. Nearly 10 years involvement in Nightclubs has taught me not to 'f*ck around' ..... if you are going to do it, do it. First punch 'nearly' always wins.

me too, when I attempted to register on Talk as my usual online name - Casper, I found it was taken ...... I didn't take it personally. But anyway, MM & Pete run a great board here, I don't think personal feuds about unrelated boards should be aired here. Besides, as far as I know this is the only board where the thread mentioned pattaya-live is left open ..... credit to the admins for that and to the posters for not 'losing it' too much!
