Well I think I have found the answer. The guy from the Guesthouse opposite remembers them going in and talking to his staff in Thai. After a bit he got fed up with them yakking in Thai to each other so he told his staff to get on with their work. That's when the 3 guys spoke English and identified themselves. Turned out they were Thai Security looking for any Thai from the south who may be staying in the guesthouse. (Remember this was shortly after the bombs). As for someone telling the police about the shows, That has happened already. Our friendly local policeman said the Thai Lady owner of the bar next door has complained to them about the shows! Guesse she didn't like her bar emptying whenever we had a show, even though after the show all her customers went back! At the moment all shows are cancelled. We are still having parties, Had a good one on Saturday! But no shows till our entertainment licence arrives. Regards Chris

Have to admit I am a bit worried about this. Those bar owners who read this will be aware of all the strange rules in Thailand about shows and go-go's etc. You will also know I have been posting info about the shows and party's here. Also been told by my friendly police friend (All bars have one!) That the bar next door has complained that we have shows. Well last night a black car with blacked out wndows and NO number plate pulled up outside the bar. Three Thai men got out and started making notes about our bar. They then phoned someone then started taking pictures of the bar and the first floor. Next they went into the bar next door then the guesthouse opposite. They then got in the car and drove off. I am very worried about this and would like to ask any member who has any idea what this was about to let me know. Needless to say, for now all shows cancelled but the Parties go on! Regards Chris

Not sure about the Fawly Towers bit, but if you talk to any bar owner about what happens with the girls you will see that this is nothing new! The best bis are being kept for an e-book I am compiling, provisionaly called "Bar Girl Tales" Anto 1, I try to keep a strict "No Hassle" policy at the bar. If one of our girls is too clingy please let me know. She won't mind cooling off or you changing lady. Sometimes they think you want them to run to you when you walk in cause you think they are a girlfriend who you are missing too much. Sometimes I think hey would prefer to just sit and talk to their friends but they are gret actors. (mind you, someimes they really like the guy, and despite me telling them a guy can switch lady at any time, they still argue with each other over other girls pinching their man!) Chris

I will be posting some pics of the party later today but for those of you who are interested in the life and tribulations of a bar owner in Pattaya, read on...... Don't know what the customers thought but in my opinion the party was a flop!!. All started well with a full downstairs bar, by 10pm the upstairs bar was full and everyone was patiently waiting for the show. At 10:15 I asked the girls when they were starting the show and they said first 1 girl would dance then 2 girls then all three then they would sart the show. So started playng the music, one girl danced then two then NOTHING, back to one! Asked the wife what was going on and she explained that first 1 would dance then 2 then 3 then the show. I got angry and said we have already been through that so after long discussions between the girls and my wife we started again. By the time the show started it was about 10:40 and most people had wandered away. Sure enough we went through the 1, 2, 3 girl ritual then the show started. Great I thought, if it was anything like the show they did last time we would be in for a treat BUT Suddenly the girls stopped and just sat there, after a minute or two, while the remaining guests were asking me if that was it! they started to get dressed! Nearly all people left at this time and only 3 people stayed upstairs. The wife went crazy with them and she came back and said OK, they will dance 1 girl, 2 girl, three girl then show!!!!!!! I hit the roof!!! Told them it was too late! so the girls just carried on dancing to an empty room. What made it worse was that they then got horny and started having sex with each other with no one watching except me an ywo other guys. A third guy ventured back upstairs and was immediately grabbed by the three horny girls and as one sat on his face the other gave him a blow job. Not sure what the third girl was doing but she was involved somehow. So that was the disaster of the show, next I went downstairs. OK, not too bad, although many had left we still had a full bar downstairs. Now for the midnight bit. We had arranged that the New Year countdown would play through the amp and then all the girls would sceam HAPPY NEW YEAR and run around kissing every guy in the place. So midnight approached and I cut the music for 15 secs then played the 1 minute countdown, - 5,4,3,2,1,0....... NOTHING. The girls just quitely sat with the customers and nothing. Ok I thought the girls might of missed the countdown so to start thngs off I yelled HAPPY NEW YEAR..... NOTHING. So far I have never lost it in the bar but this time I was very close, grabbed the wife and manager and told them NO TIPS FOR THE GIRLS - and they were lucky I did not sack them all on the spot! The No Tips bit worked. Suddenly the girls were up, kissing and giving everyone a good time, 10 minutes late! Now we still had a fair few in the bar so I was happy and rang the bell!! Good, everyone enjoyed that. The next thing was that the wife had organised a present swap and give away thing for the girls. This involved ALL the staff running off to one side of the bar a screaming as each present was handed out. After 15 mins of this non-stop screaming and the girls totaly ignoring the customers everyone had checked bin and gone next door! We had two customers left. I complained to the wfe and she said "Xmas was for the customers and New Year was for the girls" We had a LONG talk that night and she was put right on who comes first, customers or girls!!!!! So that was it, in my view terrible. I just hope that those who supported our bar by turning up had a good time and the things that went on behind the scenes did not ruin their enjoyment too much. Loytoy - Very sorry that we never had time to greet you properly. The last few weeks have been very hectic and the time you mentioned we may have really had to dash to a shop before they close to buy things to get the upstairs bar ready to open on time. I must apologise if you felt unwelcome. I do try to be there most of the time but it is just impossible to stay there 15 hours a day. I hope the girls made you feel welcomed though! I tend to be there in the evenings and my wife in the daytime. Sometimes when I see a new customer I do not introduce myself because I think they may just want a drink and not be bothered by other people, if someone asks where the owner is I always go and chat. Also my memory is so bad I would probably introduce my self to the same person a dozen times!!! Most times we are not that busy but seems you picked two bad times. Once again sorry. Chris & Kaew

The promotion is all Bottled Beer or Spirits. Draft is not bottled. A bottle is normaly 70 baht so half price is 35 baht. The Draft is always 55 baht. Except before 6pm when it is 45 baht. But people chose the draft at 55 baht rather than a bottle at 35 baht! Chris

A fellow bar owner told me that I would find out that it doesn't matter what prices the drinks are. If people like the bar they will come. Guesse that must be true because while we were serving ALL Bottled Drinks and Spirits at 1/2 price, Chang 25 baht, Heinekin 35 baht etc. The most drinks bought were 1/2 pint glasses of Heinekin Draft at 55 baht each! The promotion seems to be working, more people came during the Happy Hour than before but then never bought any 1/2 price drinks! I am confused! Chris

Our 2nd Bar was finished about 3 hours before the party was due to start! All week I had been worried that the night of the party would come and the 2nd bar wouldn't be ready to open. But our Thai Handyman worked through the night and did us proud. The party was not very well attended. Where were you all? I understand that there were parties all over Pattaya on Christmas Eve but it would have been nice if a few more people tuned up. The shortage of customers did not bother the girls though! and a great time was had by all. Even managed a free Xmas Dinner for everyone who came! I understand the reason for moving all Bar related stuff to a seperate forum but the reason most people read about the bars is to see Pictures of girls! Just tried to post some pics of our Xmas Eve party and found that there was no way to upload the pictures. The option to add attachments had been removed from this forum. However when I tried to post in the Members Bar the attachments option was still there. Is this a mistake you made when setting up the Forum or is it a policy change. Noticed that a post by Cherry Bar had a picture here so there must be a way to do it! Chris

Well Nearly Every thing Ha;f Price. All Bottled Beers and Shorts are Half Price every Saturday ftom 6pm to 7pm. (Rounded up to nearest 5 baht) I wanted to do exactly 50% but my cashier said she was selling no drink for 38 baht! That means a bottle of Heinekin is only 35 baht, Vodka 40 baht etc. If people turn up and it is popular we may extend the Crazy Hour to Every night or imcrease it to more than 1 hour. Depends on our customers! Don't forget the Xmas Eve Party. 8pm onwards with main triple person show at about 10pm. (Figure it out!) Sounds interesting. I was talking with a guy in my bar about it. I love Mother's Milk! But he said it was a very easy way for HIV Aids to be passed on (By Drinking Breast Milk). Not sure about that so I thought I'd ask Forum Members. Chris

I would like to make the same offer! Long Time Bar fine for board members now 400 Baht. Problem is, our barfine is normaly only 300 baht!!! So maybe it would be best if you did not take up the new offer! Menu items available 1pm till 1am and special BBQ nights for Steak and Pork Chops on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 7pm till 10pm. Happy Hour Draft 1/2 pt 45 baht. I pint 80 baht. We opened our upstairs bar last week and had a party to celerbrate. Don't thnk anyone from this board turned up! So for those who missed it here are some pics of what you missed. This is one of me. I'm the one in the White Shirt! Another of me and 2 friends. This is My Wife (The one in black) A great time was had by all. The Free food and the free Lesbian Show was also a hit!!!! At the moment we are adding more space to the upstairs bar but it should be opened again in a few days. When it does we wll be throwing another party. This time I hope some board members could visit. It would be great to see you. Till then, thanks to those board members that have visited and supported us. This is only the 3rd month of owning Drunks & Dare-A-Licks and I must admit that owning a bar is a lot harder than I thought it would be but so far I am still enoying the experiance.
