Hi there yes i fish for carp as I'm not into fishing the tourist parks for the cat fish, i just seams to get fed up of them and there's no challenge. you do need some skill to target the carp and i would say you would need some tackle from the uk. flavoured pellet paste, spam, sweet corn works well with little ground bait. i use bait runners just as i would in the uk but the set up is not the same. Bait bags would be good here but i can't get them so i tend to ball it up on a spring feeder then add my baited hook to it. everyone seams to fish in the middle, i don't i fish on the edge maybe 3 to 6 foot away using a very small maker float like you would fish for tench. i picked up a few 6 foot rods from ebay that i use on the sea and ponds and it works well.

Well we tried to stay away from getting involved with songkran until the last two days. we was invited to a party at the wok & rok and we got there around 12ish as it was getting underway and we stayed til around 5ish... it was one of my best days since i've been here... Yes its was very enjoyable ... at first i didn't want to go but we both was fed up of the pattaya madness and the 4 walls... i was glad i went there to see how they take care of the turtles and release them back into the sea.

Well I’ve got to say I’m fed up of been trapped in the condo while songkran plays it out. So again this morning I woke up and I just couldn’t spend another day dodging water guns or trying to drive the truck in the center of pattaya. I was also fed up of looking at the 4 walls in my condo so I had a look on the web to see what we could do as puang will just do nothing all day then she gets grumpy by the end of the day. I came across the Turtle conservation Centre south of Sattahip in the old air base on the coast. We had a good morning and puang was amazed to see the large turtles and all the small one waiting for release. This place is well worth a visit and there’s no entry charge at all.. I would say we spent around 4 hours with travel and worth the visit if your getting fed up of been in pattaya. Rescue pattaya is one of them places that most of us don’t even know about but we all have seen the rescue ambulances with the flashing lights on the streets of pattaya. Now this place works on donations and all the workers are volunteer’s, they have made a temple in the grounds where my girl goes a few times per month and prays and them donates some money to the rescue fund. Now I asked puang why does she come to this one as most go to big Buddha hill to pray and she told me big Buddha hill has money mak mak this place helps other people when they need it and I help them too. I was taken back by this and I couldn’t help but think about what a good curse, so I told her here’s some money to give to them and she told me no I have to give my own money but if you want to give then you have to pray … I had the camera with me so as I was wondering around I took a few shots.

The cost can be done for as little as 1800 baht in and old type mini bus no food nothing then going up to 2500 baht for a good seat breakfast dinner and 9 hours on the road. if you don't have any visa and its just a stamp you will get 30 day as its just changed and it use to be 15 days

its nothing like that its mainly in the main soi's i.e soi diana the odd part of soi buahkau soi 6,7,8, and a few other soi's.. i've just had a drive around town and i didn't get wet.....

This page on the left was my combodian visa and the page on the right has two stamps for my entry and exit in and out of cambodia. On this page you will see the exit and re-entry stamp for Thailand so all in all its a full page visa plus two thai stamps and two cambodian stamps.

This morning we both woke up early and i was sat on my balcony wondering on what to do again, this seams to happen more often than not.. so after asking puang what she would like to do and waiting for any ideas, but nothing came to light as the norm so i decided to have a day fishing. Now i've always wanted to catch a large carp in thailand so this was the plan, they are not easy to catch and i would say it would be 95% skill and the place i go is not the Pattaya catfish parks where you will catch around 10 per hour. i have got my own fishing tackle here from the uk i did bit by bit over the last few years, so we loaded up the truck and spent 6 hours there and it was roasting. i had an handful of bites all day but managed to catch one and lost a few. then on the way home we had a drive around pattaya to show you guys pattaya's songkran Here's the shot's from today.

My friend came up against the same thing not long ago in Laos, Vientiane Your first triple entry visa from your own country then you will only get double entry 2 times in Vientiane and you then will be knocked back. I have the same problem... I'm told to go to hong kong but now I'm doing visa runs to Cambodia and i've just done my last on on my current visa and the for the future i'll be doing monthly stamp runs as cost of the stamps is cheaper than flying off some where else and paying for flights accommodation spending money and visas and still not get one.. my girl is from udon and the next time we visit we will be going into laos and i'll try to get a double entry visa Here's a link to a thread i've just posted http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/62936-doing-my-own-visa-run/

Doing my own visa run The other day it was puang’s friends birthday and I had already planned on doing my own visa run to Cambodia in the truck as I wanted to see how it all went and what would the costing be without using a visa company. Puang had planned a night out with her friend jes and her boyfriend and me but I wasn’t really up to a heavy night out and I was told by many that the immigration at the border will not be open this weekend so I changed it for today as I was down to my last few days and I didn’t want any problems. So I was happy to hear from puang the we would heading down to the beef eater in soi Diana then just a few drinks after… well a few drinks lead to a few more and we all ended up in the buffalo bar till midnight, I felt pissed and I know puang was too as when it was time to wake up this morning at 4am she just couldn’t get out of bed and wanted to sleep longer. Well we managed to leave 30 minutes later than planned which is good for puang, I stopped at a fuel station so we could get a few things for the journey and fill up with fuel. So after fueling up just to see how much it would cost me I took a photo of the pump. i always remember filling up in the uk and it costing me £1.40p per litre and here in thailand its only 56p per litre.. so we was on our way by 5:30 am and it was a clear run all the way to the Cambodian border, they was some cracking views along the way so we took a few shots while we was on the move. we got there around 8:30 am and i was the only falang there and there was just a few Thai's and Cambodians crossing with there market stuff. so i headed to the departure window and done in 20 seconds then on to cambodain immigration 1300 baht and 1 photo and my passport, he told me 20 minutes and everything will be done and then i said we need some shopping so a guy jumps up and leads me and puang to a mini bus and takes us into cambodia to a shop that sells everything duty free same as in the airports. i picked up 400 ciggs for 360 baht which would have cost me 1320 in thailand so i guess i saved 1000 baht just on the ciggs but the fuel cost was less than half a tank which is around 700 baht, so I'm 300 baht up when you off set the ciggs to the fuel. So my total spend was 2360 baht, ok i didn't save any money as such but i was the driver and not the passenger and i also saved in time, i would say a good 3 hours and by 9am we was on our way back heading for Pattaya and i was back in my condo by mid day. here's a few shots of the border

Yes your right... As from the beginning of this year the Thai consulates around the UK are no longer issuing non 'o' visas to people that are not married to a thai or don't have thai family. before the changes they was handing them out to anyone.
