If no one else posts before i/m off to Singapore on the 5th Dec will get the full times then and post. (and yes new fare is 150baht)

  5. Flew in with Airasia yesterday from Singapore 4.25pm. Taxi rate from terminal building was 1300 baht (wanted 1500) inc tolls. Travel time 90 mins to North road including 5kms of roadworks 35kms out from Pattaya. Waited 15mins for shuttle bus to transportation centre at airport one never came............maybe because official opening is 28th? Anyway couldnt be pestered to travel into Morchit so taxi it was.
  6. Bracken ..........as Iian23 says from Don Muang if you buy 10 sleeves or more they knock you 15% off and 20% off for 20 or more. Think its 15 and 20% anyhow............(could be 10 and 15% respectively, cant remember to be honest). Works out just over a fiver a sleeve anyway.
  7. If your heading back to the UK try to fly through an EU airport on the way back...........i go via Amsterdam and take the KLM city hopper up to Teeside. The customs look as to where the flight originates so you have a better chance of there being no one on duty . Regal are the best sellers just over 5 pound a carton at DM you can get 25 cartons in your personal bag with nothing else in it (buy the bag to suit the cartons). 8. Phantomtiger.............i know Bell Travel have an office in Bangkok (maybe at the Airport?) but ive thrown away my ticket reciept with the telephone number on...............so cant help you unfortunatly. Unless you can wait till March when i do my next trip that is..............
  9. Just a little word of warning regards Bell Travel they do indeed run a service to the Airport for 250baht times are 6am 9am 1pm and 5pm............i used them 2 weeks ago for a trip i was doing down to Singapore. Word of warning is this...............only the 6am goes direct to the airport the other 3 runs stop in Bang Na to pick up passengers from Bangkok Hotels who want to go to the airport so they tell you 2 hours for the 6am run and allow 3 hours for the other 3 runs. Something to take in
  10. When are you thinking of going? If you are flexible and can wait till Feb thru to Oct 06 then AirAsia have free tickets at the moment (think you need to book this week). Ive got some for March and then September.........basically for visa runs. They were 1525 baht (although the fare is free there is tax.ins etc) thats return BKK-SIN-BKK. You/ll have to be quick though. Decent cheapish hotel (2700 baht/night) inc breakfast and handy for Orchard road would be CityBayview in Bencoolen st.................or
  11. Not at Aranya...........but at Mai Sai up north it's common.
  12. Below is the official line from Thai Immigration Police........though whether your asked to the show funds is another matter....... Immigration clarifies cash requirement rule at Arayaprathet Immigration Thai - cambodia border (Poipet) Immigration clarifies cash requirement rule - According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements dated 6 February B.E.2538 (1995), 8 December B.E. 2541 (1998) 1 October B.E. 2545 (2002) and 20 December B.E. 2545 (2002) , passport holders from countries do not require a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes if the
  13. 10k is the figure.........have a read, http://www.customs.go.th/Customs-Eng/Trave...?menuNme=Travel However unless you declare the goods the likelyhood is you wont be stopped. Feb-Mar time is getting towards the hottest and stickiest time of year (April).

  15. Crazy Daves go the bottom of Soi Diana (opposite Mikes Dept Store) turn left 10 yards on your right is Soi Chaiyapoon go up there its halfway up on your left. As to what to do all day......................sleep.
  16. Not exactly Soi 13 though is it? IslandHopper........... http://www.asiatravel.com/lek/ enfield........when are you coming in Jan , if its early you want to get booking now. Lek would be a good choice if available. a bit further away you could consider Areca Lodge in Soi Diana or even Sutus Court in Soi Bourkhao. As already suggested have a search there are plenty of reviews on the forum. Another place that might be ok if they get the extension finished by Jan would be the Golden Crab in So
  17. I/d second that , not expensive either (just over 200 baht) with salad and saute potatoes. Definately recommend it.............only one drawback and thats the place itself is a little small so can be busy.
