Items overlooked by the Concorde fanboy. It carried a very limited number of passengers. Operating costs were through the roof. Touch the sidewalls-warm to the touch. US authorities and Boeing had nothing to do with it. Who paid for your ticket is irrelevant. I paid for mine.

Deal Alert: US Cities to Southeast Asia From $484 Round-Trip
4wheels replied to 4wheels's topic in Airline Discussion
I posted another a few hours ago. We'll see. -
I mentioned this for Americans in a Qatar thread posted for Brits: http://www.theflightdeal.com/2017/07/26/qatar-airways-613-philadelphia-bangkok-thailand-roundtrip-including-all-taxes/?utm_source=The+Flight+Deal+Daily+DealsLetter&utm_campaign=383b2fcd45-The_Flight_Deal_Daily_Deals_Letter9_29_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_eb7686b6a9-383b2fcd45-174814333

Thanks for the lesson of NOT POSTING FARE DEALS HERE! -
The offer for US departures is awful. Except PHL-BKK for USD $620 which is phenominal uI haven't found any at that price between now and 12/10. But I appreciate the e-mail nonetheless.

Foreigners in Thailand will soon be able to apply for a 10 year visa.
4wheels replied to Goldpanner's topic in Expat Issues
If it still applies,a 1 year Business visa is available after you have already entered Cambodia. You don't need to have a business.I know for a fact it was available a few years ago.It was ~$280 IIRC. -

Last year I applied for and received a 10 year visa for India. No strings attached or hoops to jump through. -
But but but breakfast is included!!!!!
-
LOL!!!! Actually those folks were nice in training. The training was at LGA which is strange b/c BA doesn't fly there.
-
Now you've gone and hurt my feelings. But we do agree on liking military history. Football-wise,not so much. I remember that Kneebraska-Miami game in the Orange Bowl-no wait,I was there.

It is a codeshare for sure. VS flying to Ft Myers would be akin to DL flying to Colchester!
-
I feel it necessary to reply. In 66 years of flying Delta as a dependent, employee and now a DL retiree, only once in that time did my bag not arrive with me. If my trip is longer than 2 days,I always check a bag.Sorry for your experience. Delta was at the forefront of RFID tags. And if you look at DL baggage handling, their record is admirable.
-
Simple to answer. No attitude whatsoever!!! (Using same number of exclamation points as you). Simply correcting an error. Codeshare wasn't in the conversation originally-only when posted as follow up, in error. I thought it was obvious that it WAS a codeshare since VS will never fly to Ft. Myers. My error in assuming something so obvious.I'm always happy to answer any questions regarding airlines. I certainly don't know it all but I know a bit. I was also trained by BA in NYC,VS in MCO and KL in AMS to handle those carriers a my airline handled those carriers. Happy to clarify.
-
Scottie, welcome to SW Florida and the wettest summer in quite some time. And hopefully you'll enjoy your flights on BOTH carriers, not just Delta.
-
Wrong yet again. "Hi. booked Delta to Fort Myers next month.Flight is being done by Virgin.Good news. Scottie" No mention of codeshare.
-
I'm just happy some carriers allow you to bid on an upgrade. My current experience is with AC between YYZ & BOM. They will let me know 48-96 hours prior to departure.
-
And I guess you didn't spend 32 years at Delta either. Again, they DO NOT fly to Ft Myers. Care to talk about the airline industry?
-
Back to the OP,we see the future on travel,at least in my lifetime,as the Dreamliner and the A350. I have flown both and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin atmosphere of several thousand feet lower than any previous aircraft. Next trip on future aircraft is YYZ-BOM on Air Canada Dreamlliner (787-9).

Actually, you are wrong again. I lived adjacent to 2 US airports in question,MIA and IAD-that's Dulles for the great unwashed. The remainder of your gibberish is hilarious. Do you REALLY think you would be flying on a Concorde to BKK these days if they were available. They carried very few passengers and were ALL First Class. Yeah,so tell me again about all of us flying to BKK on the Concorde. The remainder of your diatribe is only about US bashing from a UK fan boy.
-
Delta doesn't fly beyond HND anywhere. It's a point to point station. Delta is dropping many of their routes in Asia from NRT. BKK,TPE,HKG. Manila is down from 3 flights to one from NRT. 1 was from Nagoya-it's gone. HKG service is from SEA now.
-
You won't be flying Delta to BKK much longer, sadly.
-
I have to correct you on your assumption regarding the economy compartment. Fares change many times a day on certain routes as airlines try to maximize revenue. And regarding downsizing First Business and Premium Economy, very few airlines have deleted 1 of those classes and nearly every airline has added a Premium Economy product-nearly every one. Another reason is the Suites offered in true First Class take up more space the any lie-flat seat. The money to be made is INDEED in the front 1/4 of any aircraft. Period. But I always enjoy hearing from others.
-
Those 1st few sentences are hilarious. Did you ever fly the Concorde? The interior was the size of a 1970s DC-9 and the ONLY positive for the aircraft was speed and nothing else.
-
Several years ago that was correct. Fuel prices are down but indeed fuel killed the A340 and now,the 747. You can do any 747 trip with a twin engine aircraft. And have been able to for over a decade, easily with the 777-200LR. And now the Dreamliner and A350.
