  1. I spent over ten years working in restaurant and hotels in London, so I make this post with some experience. I just returned from a recent trip and wanted to share some observations / sugguestions with onwers of hotels and restaurants. 1 As an onwer do you make randon inspections of your business? If your on-site, please take time to walk your rooms, when empty and jsut look around with your onwers eye. i noticed a couple of easy fixes at my last hotel and wanted to share these with you as I have found the below has happened at other hotels I have stayed in. 2 Shower heads and taps. How often do you remove the shower head in your rooms and clean it to insure that any build up of lime is removed to insure the shower head is working at full capacity. i know the water preasure can be hit and miss depending your location but cleaning the shower heads on a regular schedule will help. The same goes for taps in the bathroom. On this trip I had a bad dose of food posioning which cut five days out of my trip and wanted to make a sugguestion. If you have a working kitchen and it has closed for the day, take a walk through, check the fridge and seei the food is wrapped correctly for storage and has a use by date witten by the chef. Same goes for sauses like tarter and horseratish. Dry goods are stored by expiration date, first in, first out. Is your vendor delivering to you what he pormised too? I found some venders will sneak in second day or third produce. Lastly look under the stove and under the food preparation area has it been cleaned to your standard? i found a randon check by the boss will keep employess on their toes and will insure your business stays where is should be and that is making a profit. I made randon inspections of very aspect when i ran hotels, returned linen, dish washer, safe storage of chemicals away from food area, room check, produce delivery, beer delivery and cleaning of beer pumps to name but a few. This post is not ment as an attack on anyone, jsut helpful tips. I welcome feedback on open forum or PM me if you wish. Cheers, S

  5. I had been a regular guest at he QV over the last couple of years, however my last stay was a nightmare. I made my booking over the internet and arrived ready to party I had spoken to Vic many times before.and had got along well with him. After my first day, Vic omes up to me and says hey will be making some small changes to the room next door to mine (constuction) How long I asked, only two days he replies. Ok I like the vic, so two days no problem. Two days turned in to 8, no appology ws given and no offer was made to cut my room rate. I was most upset with Vic, hence I will never stay there again. In my mind, as a customer I should have been told before I arrived about the upcoming construction and would have stayed somwhere else for that trip and returned to the vic for my next trip. He has brought the building next to the vic and there may be working on going. Now when I make my booking, I always ask if there will be any construction during my stay.

  11. Arriving march 13th around 1230 pm with China Airlines, anymore want to share a taxi from the airport to Pattaya? cheers.
  12. Japanese Karaoke bar opposite soi 6/7 on 2nd road, next door to a japanese sauna/massage. I went over and talked to the doorperson and she told me that This place will oly let japanese and korens inside. Entrance is 4000b and drinks are dear too. There are other Karaoke bars in pattaya that will let all races inside. so if this is your thing, you will still be able to enjoy a night out with your TG.
  13. This is a japanese karaoke business mens club and may not allow non-japs in. I'll take a look and post an update.
  14. On my first trip in Thailand I had my bike stolen outside the open market on second rd. I went to the police, no help. I gave my dad a call as if had served in the army in asia for a few years and he told me thais sometiime will take a bike, use it for a day or two and return it where they"borrow the bike" I wnt back the next dayin the evening and the bike was there. I did not a chain on or a lock at the time. fat chance I know, but go back to where it was stolen, borrowed. Just because your lawyer tells you that this guy doesn't want any bad press because he is trying to build up his business, donesn't mean he the bike renter ant shady. A lock and chain should be enough to deter a random thief, this bike had 15K on it already. Ask your lawyer to find out ot you can do it yourself, if this renter has a history of bikes being stolen if so publish his business name and address on the the broad
