I do want to tell you guys something impressed me greatly about Heaven Above staff. Early April this year, I bought one of the 10 drink cards for 895b. It's a very good deal, and I like drinking 89.5baht Heineken in a gogo with stunning naked women....a lot. So, the first night I had 2 drinks which they stamped on my card. Then I didn't go back until after Songkran. Unfortunately, I got soaked on the night of the 18th of April, and had my drink card in my pocket, without protection. As I sat down and ordered my drink, handing the waitress my card, I didn't notice anything wrong. A few moments later, she brought me the card and showed me that it wouldn't open (it's actually a foldover coupon). The interior sides were stuck together. She left it to me to pry them apart, and as I did so, I could tell that the interior of the card had lost its legend and my stamps. I calmly explained to her that it was from Songkran, and that I'd had 2 stamps used, and a remaining 8 to go. She took the card, and I could tell they were having a conference at the cashier station. No farang management was present, so this was going to be an all-Thai resolution. I was not optimistic. A few minutes later, she came back with my card containing 3 stamps now, and a very cold Heineken. Good work, Heaven Above staff! I was very happily surprised.

As lovedog and Bushcraft can probably confirm, whenever we go on a bar crawl to HA, I have my hands full with friendly girls. I think it's a matter of breaking the ice with them so they know you. And, no, I don't spend massive amounts when I go there, but I do, of course, buy a few drinks. The girls are young, slender, and pretty, by and large, and I've always been well treated when I go there. To get some company, it's usually just a matter of making eye contact and indicating you are interested. After that, the ball's in your court to make the encounter anything more than a forgettable drink for the girl. It's a "no name" brand spirit where you probably wouldn't know the name on the bottle.

That's amazing. I wanted a credit card to pay for things online with Thai baht, and as you probably know, the VISA ATM (debit) cards have aren't useable as credit cards online...they don't have a valid CVV or expiration date, for example. So, I went to my Kasikorn branch where I had a sizeable amount on deposit for several years, and was told that to get a credit card...an actual card that you can pay off in installments, I'd need the following: 1) Company papers 2) Work Permit 3) Salary disclosure 4) 1 liter of blood After about 6 months, I was approved for both a VISA and MASTERCARD, but with a ridiculously low credit limit based on my purported salary * 2. I don't even get a salary, so I used the statutory salary amount defined by the Thai government for Americans working in Thailand when I applied. The credit limit is enough to buy an economy ticket to the USA, but not business class.

Yeah, well he might be buying places (6 gogos at last count), and he might be called "The Arab", but that doesn't mean his customers are Arab, does it? And, from what I have heard, he's not even an Arab. I seem to recall he's Iranian, but that is really not the point. Arabs are not present on Soi Cowboy in any numbers. It's a smartphone marketed and sold by Google. Not a big deal, it's just a phone running the Android operating system.

The "hover" preview of a topic is now installed. Sadly, it only works with topic view within a forum, not VIEW NEW CONTENT or the results of a SEARCH. To use it, just move the mouse over the topic title, and a preview box of that topic's first post will pop up.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's actually not a config change, because Invision apparently thought it was great to upload 10 at a time. I disagree, as you do, so some resourceful user provided a very simple fix that overrides it. I've changed the limit to 100. I am living dangerously now!

Uncredited implies it cannot be verified using internet resources or at least the cast list in the film credits...therefore not subject to objective review. So, uncredited is disallowed. My board, my ruling. (I've been waiting 6 years to write that! : P )

Finishing the game by dead ending it is sort of winning isn't it? I don't know if that's the object, but if someone gets a chance, they can do it.

The 24 hour rule applies to looking up the answer using other resources...however, I don't think it applies to a dead end. The last time this happened, jacko started a new thread. It looks like LocalYokul "wins".

I've been testing it for a few days now. It's a cool interface for the smartphones (Iphone, Android).

It's just the net of the positive and negative votes. There is no scale, aside from the total number of voters. It was not abandoned. It was a mod and stopped working after an upgrade...and the author didn't make a compatible version. Now it's integrated into IPB, so it is there. Use or not, up to you. No, I can't see who votes...I could make it so everyone, including me, can see who votes, but that would probably start a tit-for-tat sequence. I prefer people be able to vote without possible retribution. A member can only vote once for another member, so there is no "stuffing" likely.
