  1. I will repeat what I said earlier, only get American Express cheques. Any others and you may have trouble cashing in LOS.
  2. In answer to the guy who started the thread, I would suggest your best bet is to obtain America Express travellers cheques in Canadian Dollars. Any other type of T/C and you could have problems.
  3. Ask the travel agents you bought the ticket from. There may be a fee payable.
  4. Thanks for the good info. Is your daughter by your girlfriend?
  5. So, from what I understand you met this lady in February and spent 4 days with her. You then spent 7 days in Koh Samui together. Since then you returned to the UK and have been emailing and phoning her. She works as a hostess and goes with men to earn a living. You now find out she has another "boyfriend" or maybe even more. You are now upset because you feel she has mislead and deceived you. I don't want to sound harsh but don't you think you have been a little gullible in believing a lady you have only spent 11 days with and who shags men for a living? Thai BG give a great service in the boyfriend/girlfriend experience they provide, but that is all it is.... a paid for service. You can't buy their true love. Sure, some girls fall in love with their clients and vice versa but the fact you paid this lady's bar fine for 11 days is hardly grounds for acting the jilted suitor. [smiley=crying.gif]
  6. IMHO you have absolutely no chance of getting any 'deals' on the major, direct route airlines during the Xmas/New Year period. Your best bet is to look around for the best price now and put a deposit down on the flight, i.e. don't wait hoping for last minute deals.
  7. The Thai Limo Service seems to be having problems at the moment but the worst I can see is they have to await a short while for a car. Tell them to tell the driver to take the tollway and motorway, this will avoid the Bangkok afternoon traffic jams. They will have to pay the driver direct for this, it's about 130 baht.
  8. At a cost of 11,500 baht for the service, you must have more money than sense. But then as we say in Thailand "Up to you!"
  9. Sure, it is a very good deal but remember the ticket is non-refundable and no date changes are allowed.
  10. I have found the BBC Watchdog report on lastminute.com, not as I thought but interesting...... http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/reports/holi...bcat=lastminute
  11. Also the full amount must be paid upfront, no change of dates allowed and no refunds for cancellation. It still a good deal though if you can be confident of your dates. Gerald.... I don't want to put a downer on things but I am sure Lastminute.com was on BBC Watchdog a few months ago. People complaining about getting tickets late or not at all. If I was you, I would give it 10 days from when you paid and start complaining if you haven't received the ticket.
  12. Reconfirming depends on the particular airline. For Thai Airways reconfirming is not required..... but with the world situation like it is, when you are out in LOS, it is not a bad idea to reconfirm because departure times can change. Most travel agents will reconfirm for about 100-150baht and they should tell you the latest departure/check-in times when they do.
  13. That may have been a restricted ticket Steptoe. The restrictions are no change of dates, no refunds and the ticket must be fully paid within 14 days of booking. Did your ticket have these restrictions?
  14. Well I did a little search on the above and all I saw was £2363 !! :) What is your total travel time?? Here are the best prices and flight results currently available that match your search. 15. The nymphos bit sounds okay..... ;D ;D
  16. Hahahaah :)
  17. Turbo, According to this web site: http://www.gatewayonline.net/compare/index.html Eva have 17" seat width whereas Emirates have 20". Maybe Emirates would be worth a try...........
  18. Eva are listed as having 34" seat pitch, China as 32" and Emirates as 33". So if you think Eva are cramped you are not going to like the others.....
  19. Well in that case, flying from Manchester and the fact you cannot get a direct flight, I believe it is a good deal. I have heard many good things about Emirates, you should enjoy your flight.
  20. Thats not to bad a price but the additional price one pays going with Emirates is an extra 5 hours journey time on top of direct flights. Also, you have to be careful booking Emirates because they fly from both Gatwick and Heathrow. Which airport are you flying from?
  21. Ray, These are very low fares for BA/Qantas your web site is showing. Maybe you should check out if anyone has had any dealings with them first. Personally, I use Westeast Travel agency. They have always been very efficient and I have never had a problem with them. I would even pay a little more to them for a ticket rather than elsewhere for the peace of mind knowing that I will get my ticket on time. I am with Tom on the matter of seat pitch. I would much rather forgo a seat back TV then suffer having the back of someones head in my face for 12 hours. As regard to Rick69, what planet are you living on?? Don't you know smoking is not allowed in the toilets..... :)
  22. My experience as well Tom. Woody,

  24. I have just found this link:- http://www.executivelounges.com/ They seem to charge a bit more, £18.80 incl. VAT. It appears you can shop around for different offers to use these lounges. I note they say you can arrive at the lounge upto 3 hours before your flight time. One would probably have to go to boarding about 30-45 minutes before flight time so you are only getting 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 hours. :)
  25. Good, you can do a mini-report on it for us when you get back!! I am seriously considering the Servisair lounge in Terminal 3 on my next trip. I always get to the airport early and it seems better than being crammed into a corner of one of the pubs. Sometimes not even being able to get a seat. Have a good trip, Woody,
