I think you should be relatively ok arriving on the 17th. Sure its going to be slow when you hit central Pattaya though. The last day of it will be the worst for traffic.

Not really lol. Funny analogy but not really true. England said they'd go ahead with the game regardless then pulled out after their bid ended in disaster.

According to this article in the Daily Telegraph, Thailand had made it very clear they would not be voting for England to host the World Cup and were assured the friendly game would go ahead regardless. However, for two months it had been clear that Makudi had no intention of supporting England in the vote. In September, Telegraph Sport revealed that Makudi was part of a vote-trading alliance between Spain-Portugal and Qatar that he was highly unlikely to abandon. Last month he telephoned Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards, who is also chair of the Club England board, to

I watched an Old Firm game in Witherspoons in soi buakhaow this year at the end of last season. Unless something has changed recently I'd have though they'd still have them.

For amoxycillin, it would be cheaper in Thailand I'm sure. I brought some 500mg amoxycillin strips back with me. Always handy to have. Sorry I can't remember the exact price but they were cheap.

If you're looking for this type of music online. I can't think of any particular sites that have sets of it. I reckon your best bet would be to look on youtube for things like 'car dance pattaya' and 'motor show bangkok'. This will bring up videos of girls dancing on cars to this type of music. When you find clips you like the music on. Use a file conversion site like zamzar.com to convert it to mp3 files you can listen to. You might be lucky and find a long sequence of such clips. Next time you're in Pattaya, have a word with the DJ's in the gogo's. Some of them sell CD's. 100 baht or so, alw

In simplistic terms they believe that there are different levels of heaven, hell and purgatory. This making merit as outlined by joekicker will promote their relatives soul into a higher level.

I looked at this place last summer. I was shown a room with chunks of paint peeling off the wall and a plastic settee. The bathroom/ shower area was terrible as well. It was one of the worst rooms I've been shown in Pattaya. Well overdue getting gutted and refurbished from what I've seen. It is a good location and has potential with the pool to be quite nice. But needs some money spent on it as they must have realised themselves.

Nova Park Serviced Apartments...?
soi two replied to ZAMPA's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I haven't stayed here so can't comment on the rooms. Siam View on soi AR is also pretty good and maybe somewhere to have a think about. I thought about staying on soi AR and had a look about. On the one hand it is a central location. On the other hand you're not on the baht bus route so its will be motorbike taxis to get about. Its a longer walk than you might think to Second Road especially in the heat of the afternoon. On a longstay I could see the cost of motor bike taxis adding up everytime I set foot outside so decided to stay elsewhere. -
I can't speak Thai but there appear to be prices beside two pictures. 3,000 and 4,500 baht. At that price point I'd imagine an empty room with no bedding and possibly very little in the way of furniture like seats etc. Fine if you live in Pattaya and don't mind buying a few things to make a room seem more homely. But not so well suited for short term visitors. I haven't seen these rooms btw. If you're planning on staying for a while it could be a good price, if its a shorter stay in Pattaya maybe not such a good deal. Thanks for mentioning this place I might have a look myself sometime just to

I love the Sailor Bar for good value but they stop serving food at 2am.

Looking for a tune I've heard in the disco's
soi two replied to soi two's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks for the replies. I've found it ! Jerry Ropero and Denis The Menace - Fuck You. -
Can anyone tell me who does this tune ? I like the disco's in Pattaya and JP Bar. I've been hearing this one for the last three years in them. It starts off with a woman talking over the beats - you said you were going to take me out for dinner, you didn't you said you were going to take me to a movie, you didn't you said you were going to buy me a diamond ring, you didn't fuck you, fuck you, fuuuuuuuuuuck you I've been trying to find this for ages. All the big commercial anthems get played out there so it can't be too obscure. Anyone know who does it ?

http://www.seaside-guesthouse.com/ Soi 3 just down from second road. Great value for money for north Pattaya. But better rooms out there if you are willing to stay in different areas.

Monthly rent a studio 5000 baht range
soi two replied to sanuk scouser's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
There are rooms out there in that price range in decent locations. Central Apartments on soi 1 have rooms from 5,000 a month. You need to sign a six month lease though. Small but looked OK. Soi 5 Apartments were in the 7,000 a month range, in the middle of soi 5. Winner Inn above the shopping centre at the Dolphin Roundabout were a similar price. All have aircon. Daeng Apartments near soi AR were about 7k as well I think but I didn't like the location so didn't check the rooms out. (I looked at these rooms over the last two years so prices may have changed slightly.) I should add that -
I stayed there for a fortnight last year. If its a female member of staff on duty at the desk they will be asked to produce an ID card. If its a male member of staff they'll be smiled at and waved on to your room. There is no joiner fee for overnight visitors. Never brought two girls back, so don't know if they might have some surcharge for more than one guest. Nice place, enjoy your stay. Just make sure you don't get a room on the second floor, ceilings are very low !

chaplins bar & guest house.....
soi two replied to glassdude007's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Had a look here in April. Rooms were certainly basic, not somewhere I would want to stay. Good location though. -
I'm thinking about booking into the Thai Palace on soi 4. I've walked past and seen the balconys with the grills on them ! Never got round to having a look at the rooms though. I do like staying in that general area. I was reading about their monthly rates and they're certainly cheap enough if you're there for a few months. The reviews I've read on this board are from 2004 and 2005 and seem positive. Has anyone been there recently ? Would appreciate any up to date reviews of this 'palace' ! Thanks

AussieG, Gazza has done a few daft things in his time. Getting sent off in the first fifteen minutes against Borussia Dortmund in a Champions League game springs to mind for one. Flute playing incident ... well yeah. Not defending that one. Although he was warming up to chants of 'wife beating bastard'. Just a collection of the happier Gazza moments here !

Some of the off field antics of Paul Gascoigne... 1) One hour after playing for England, met 'showbiz pals' Danny Baker and Chris Evans in a Hampstead pub while still wearing his full kit, boots included. 2) When asked for his nationality before an operation, told the nurse: "Church Of England." 3) On a trip to London, jumped out of his car to demand "a go" on a workman's pneumatic drill. After getting the go-ahead, happily pounded the pavement to the amusement of shoppers. 4) On first meeting with Lazio's president to discuss his big-money move to the Italian club,

Hi bart, I have been told that the best way of learning Thai script. Is to associate each letter with a word. So rather than typing or writing each letter again and again to try and remember it. Think of a child learning to read and write. They would remember a letter by saying - A is for apple, B is for boy etc etc I think this would be the best approach. I hope this link is of some use. http://www.learningthai.com/gorgai_001.htm The very best of luck !!!

I think this is a great idea and hope it is a success. (At first I thought this was a Big D wind up but I googled it and it's true !) The only concern, I would suggest is that they are targetting too small a niche market to be viable. If it was a smokers only airline and they crammed the plane with seats. Like most carriers. Then they would be appealing to ALL smokers. At least in central Europe/ Germany. If they are only having business and first class seats with a lounge then they are only targetting - affluent smokers. A niche market within a niche market. Good luck to them.

makavelli, I flew Glasgow - Amsterdam - Bangkok. Using KLM cityhopper then China Air. Similar idea to your route. When I changed my date to return. The travel agent dealt with the connecting flight as well. I was told in Pattaya that KLM (pricks) could not get me back to Glasgow from Amsterdam as it was a Friday and all flights were full. I had to get an Easyjet flight to Edinburgh airport for 130 Euros, but I was in a rush to get home and claimed it back on travel insurance. So your Pattaya travel agent, whoever you choose will certainly let you know about connecting flights as well.

makavelli, I think it depends on what type of ticket you have. If you will be charged a certain amount for changing the return date. I specified I wanted a six month option on the return date. Maybe I paid slightly more at the point of purchase for this ticket than one with fixed dates. However there was no charge for making changes within ticket validity. I use Mr Sunny on Naklua Road for any dealings with airlines. SunnyOnlineTravel - good guy. If there is a charge then you pay it at the check in desk. When I paid with Emirates, it had to be cash.
