Following another warning article maybe on another board, I agree Evans Marketing should be kept an eye on, potential user problems in small print, and there is lots of it in contract. Evans Marketing nice girl walks into condo for sale, I ask 'What is commission?' answer ' 3% sir', not true, in contract it states that commission is a minimum of 50,000 bht so if you sell condo for 500,000 you pay 10%, typical Farang trick from UK , I'd say watch out at Evans Marketing. Today six months on , Evans Marketing tell me they are going to show me an apartment I have identified from one of their websites, beware there are many, same charming girl shows up as we leave building she identifies apartment I want to see, but strangely takes me to see a completely different one of completely different nature i.e. just renovated expensive etc. cannot see the one I want to see today, in other words just a plant on website to suck you in as I suspected. Wasting everybody’s time. I question her on this and she says it is what her boss tells her to do, I suggested she find another boss as Evans Marketing are not doing anything for her reputation. Make her lose face all the time. Well I guess the estate agents in general in Pattaya are still allowed to try on the same old come ons they used to use in Britain 20 years ago. To this day I have never been taken to see a property as I have identified from an advert by any estate agent in Pattaya , got taken to one by Fair properties that existed Oh! but the price on the website was 500,000bht light. Moral of story : AVOID ESTATE AGENTS

Did you read the report on the BBC News website last week about the immigration civil servants at Lunar house Croydon one of the largest Immigration processing centres in England, being proved to have met visa applicants outside office hours and out of office, allegedly offerring visas for sex? They couldn't get the actual photos of the sex but it was proved that they met the applicants, I wonder what for? These civil servants were also proved to have sorted out the applicants that they judged to be 'ugly' and pinned their application pictures up on the office wall in Lunar House and make degrading abusive comments about them. I wonder if the ugly ones got visas? No they did not get the sack!!! What a good job these people have on "the UK immigration gravy train!" at the UK tax payers expense! You are right it is shameful and shambolic organisation and the people who defend it should be equally ashamed of their misguided allegiance, but they from the general evidence must get their visas on the nod (like the past minister in charge's maid!) (At least he resigned, just like the next minister!!!) accountability at that level but not amongst the plebs we have to deal with, just another facet of the corrupt culture that ruins so many British citizens aspirations and for which behaviour and its subsequentt rejections there is no appeal against. You can get a bus direct to Pattaya from Chiang Mai (about 750bht VIP bus don't take anything else) or Chiang Rai. On the VIP bus you get a good bit of legroom and the seat reclines a long way and you get some food orange juice and water. Chiang Mai took me 13 hrs going stopped in Phitsanulok for a bowl of soup on the house. Unbelievably I do not believe the train is any quicker especially as you have to muck about transferring in Bangkok but is supposed to be more comfortable. The bus arrives in Pattaya at the Bus station on Sukumvit Road.

Advertised on a dummy in front window 2000bht that was what it cost. For the money excellent value and good quality. What is a bit scammy with some of them is they advertise a price on the board outside that seems well cheap (no mention of fabric) but when you get inside they tell you the fabric is extra, that price is for the making only, so it ends up being not so cheap, but they got you in there on a scam, I would say. That is enough for me to just walk out the door without further consideration.

Our water is 25 bht cubic metre in condo, a cubic metre is a lot of water. But ladies who use toilet a lot, bump it up with constantly flushing it. Our bill I am informed is 100-125 bht per month and my bird showers long time and uses loo a lot! I would agree with above on electricity, no air con, 600bht air con at night 2-2500 bht air con 24 hrs, 3-3500 bht and going up. Plus I read recently that having air con on even at night increases chances of spreading bronchial illnesses so keep filters very clean!.

Hi, My experience of drivers licence in Pattaya is as follows: No1. there is a lady who sits in the parade of 'shops' opposite the licencing office who will help you facilitate getting your licence, this is completely normal practice, when we changed the ownership docs of our car the little man from the garage took us to the same lady and she did all the running about. I don't know how much it cost but the whole thing came to under 1000bht so couldn't have been anything to worry about. She will advise you about tea money no doubt. Don't take photos before you go to the licence office because they insist that you use the photo facility in the same parade of shops. The lady in question did say that if you have an international driving licence you do not have to take any test, otherwise I thought you have to take a wriiten 30 question job. I believe you have top do a colour blindness test. You need, A letter from immigration attesting to your residency status, ( it is possible a chanute will do but it is not what is actually required and could cause problems) you get this from Pattaya Immigration at Soi5 Beach Road Jomtien., copies of your passport etc which the lady can do, a medical certificate 100 bht no problem from any clinic, your licence and I would recommend international driving licence, and some dosh. I didn't actually succeed in my mission as I forgot about a medical certificate and only a Chanute though she was going to try with this she did not know whether it would succeed. If a rule is in existence it seems that you can never rely on it being ignored especially by the more sensible airlines, plus as the $s become tighter they start scratching a buck wherever they can.

Here like in Jamaica and many other countries, topless sunbathing is officially not allowed but you wouldn't think so as quite a few ladies are to be observed topless, even walking up and down the beach in Jomtien ( I do not frequent Pattaya beach), personaly if I was a lady I think a good balance would be to sunbathe topless in my deckchair and put my top on to go in sea and for walking about. My thai lady just had her 'boobs done' and was forever saying once they are done I am going to go walking uo and down Jomtien beach topless like farang, I am certain she would not say this if going topless was a complete no no.

Try the outlet mall next to Tesco lotus on Sukemvit road, Royal garden shopping plaza has occasional big brand clearance stands on its concourse, best deals on genuine stuff I've seen, same in Big C festival though brands not as good. For great looking fakes go to stall at front about halfway down the left hand side of Tues/Fri market Soi Buckou (opposite Friendship supermarket), Levi shops seem to be in many civilised plazas. There is also an outlet shop called 'Fly Now' a couple of kilos down Sukemvit towards bkk , on left probably see it on way in if you keep your eyes open.

I to don't think you can rely on them for the cheapest fare available, though you would think you ought to be able. For example they never get close to a back street BKK-LHR deal in Pattaya. Just ruins there credibilty just apart of a system that does not deliver what it advertises.
