People use both, as do I. Fact is, that if you mention America or American ("American" being the basis for this discussion) most people won't think you're talking about the countries or the peoples of Brasil or Argentina or any other country in the Americas. It is what it is.........

Intermittent for me in that I just tried the quote function on 4 posts here. First one looked fine, had smileys to choose and all that jazz. Second and third had no smileys and such and looked just like G originally described. Forth was hunky-dory again. Server has turrets perhaps.............. Edit: hovering over the name working also.

Quoting is basically as Gabor says for me. Odd, just tried to quote and was normal and now in the edit it looks bad again.

It might be when transliterated..........
