  1. You may want to search http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/ Many guys with both dogs and cats have reported serious medical problems and expenses.
  2. Welcome Jam. What?????????????????????????? No pussy questions? Maybe the search prior to asking worked in that area. Have fun on you first trip of MANY to come.
  3. I also would not stay at a President property again. Huge rate increases and hidden charges, vote with the feet! Centre Ponte apartments are very good for stays of 30+ days.
  4. I spent 6 months at the President Solitaire soon after they opened and weren't busy at all. Every month they kept trying to raise my rate even though I had a "guaranteed' rate for the 6 month stay. They finally wore me out with the continual attempts to raise the rates on me. I was planning on staying a year at Solitaire and finally had too move due to this. The hotel was only about 30% full at the time. Proves Thai thinking.....no business, raise the rates. Very nice hotel other than the hassles the Grand President group tries to pull
  5. I had the same problem using Norton, just try turning it off and then try the webpage for pics. I finally got rid if Norton.....takes too much space and memory and swithced to AVG Free. http://www.grisoft.com/doc/40/lng/ww/tpl/tpl01
  6. Sometimes antivirus programs will do that, try turning off you antivirus...............ONLY IF YOU TRUST THE SITE!
  7. Never heard of it, don't go near that area though.
  8. LOL Don't let it worry ya too mutt. At B9350 you gotta takes the good with the not so good.
  9. Angkor Wat is an absolute must see if you have the time, at least 2 days to see it all. There is also some p4p there just in case you need a break from temples.
  10. As ting suggests, join the members forum. 6000 a month is going to be some very uncomfortable living, may be a room with a fan, no maid, no laundry=no fun 4 me. If you are going to be in your room during the day you will most probably wnt a/c..............what are your daytime plans? Pattaya is hot and humid during the daytime..........shit and night time. Crime is same, same everywhere. Old life saying "don't start no shit, won't be no shit. Smile and be happy. Bugs easily found cooked at many street food vendors and rooms for B6000 per month.
  11. 6000 can be done but not easily. You really should look at 10-15K Baht a month to have "some" comforts. Soi=street, side street.
  12. I used to own a little expat bar in San Jose, Costa Rica. It was around the corner from Blue Marlin and Key Largo, across from Presidente Park. During the daytime it was just a typical park, at night nothing but drug dealers and ladyboys. Many guys in CR will stay at the Holiday Inn across from the park and have to walkl thru the park or skirt it to get to the bar area's. The park was only about 100 yards from my front door. We had a couple guys visiting CR for their 1st time, they stayed at Holiday Inn and I told them many times to never walk the park especially at night, take the damn $2.00 taxi and be safe. They didn't take the advice. One night one of the guys came busting through the door, face covered in blood. We cleaned him up, got medical attention for him etc. Came to find out the next day he walked thru the park and was "teasing" the ladyboys being drunk and thinking it was fun I guess. One of the ladyboys who he apparently got too close too grabbed him by the head and pulled his face to hers, she commenced to grab a big bite of his face and lip and literally tore is lip almost entirely off. The next day he had to be flown back to the states as he needed extensive plastic surgery which couldn't be done in CR. Niall hit the nail on the head, "fight one thai and you will end up fighting them all" Same goes for taxi, baht bus drivers and ladyboys. Some guys don't get it, you may think your picking a fight with a ladyboy, but it really is nothing more than a guy in a dress. This particular guy got what he was asking for, a ruined trip and huge medical expenses. Always best to put on a large smile and walk on............................
  13. Face is something few vacationers will run into especially in and around the p4p scene. Bg's claiming "face" are simply trying to protect their walking atm machine.
  14. I'm tellin...........you started another thread! Keep asking questions and and before you know it all the good boardies will help you out....as they have. You owe the board one hell of a trip report with many pictures of your adventures. And the obligitory
  15. LOL, hot and humid.......................imagine that! Looks like maybe rain soon
  16. Very sage advice for anything that only has two wheels. Pattaya is simply far too dangerous to be riding!
  17. Resindence Garden works perfectly for me. I find no problems at all getting to or from RG. Baht buses run all the time, just get in a moving one and your there! It can be a little noisy during the day with the traffic but with the AC on and sliding glass door closed.........no ploblem. Also the gals love the place. Pool is nice and food is above avarage. The laundry across the street (one on the left) is fantastic and far cheaper to use then RG. Girl friendly, you will get strange looks if you don't bring someone back every night! Peaceful days and rowdy humping nights for all. Have fun!
  18. Everywhere along beach road, enjoy the heat.............. Then have many beers
  19. I would email them and ask. Worst case is they may try to hit you with a large joiner fee. If you are OK with that then go for it. Some hotels will try and charge 1000-1500 Baht joiner fee's. Some "family" hotels really try to discourage us from staying by doing exactly that. I have never stayed a non guest friendly hotel and wouldn't. Plenty of very friendly hotels in BKK.
  20. I have read on other boards that they are not guest friendly, I have never stayed there though. President Solitaire is very nice ang very guest friendly.
  21. In Bkk search for Centre Pointe apartments, they are not cheap though. Three beds in one loom sounds like a bg apartment!
  22. I know places in bkk not Pattaya. Rolex copies are shit for the most part, beware. Tag's and Breitlings are very good copies at about B1000. I have sold many of them on Ebay and Yahoo auctions.
  23. This is exactly why whenever the question of age comes up I say be very careful of trusting ID cards. Anyone in LOS can get a fake ID for very little Baht. Punter would never know the difference.
  24. Anything and everything is easily obtainable in bkk. I was offered a large sum of $$$ for my clean passport in Cambodia in 2001.
  25. Walking anytime, anywhere. "Sidewalks" are full of potholes, sinkholes and landmines. Watch your step, drink and fuck to access, see the sights.......and just have FUN! P.S. The prettiest women in Thailand may not be what you think. Check downstairs before you have a Danny Bonaducci moment
