La Fountaine is probably the best deal you'll find on an apartment on the path. The farther off the path you go the better deals you will find. Places like Nantana Garden and Nova Park you will either spend alot of money on motor bike taxis or will need some transportation of your own. Cheers, B-Man!

Don't know anything about the rooms but the pool looks nice. They also have a good gym right in the complex that is very reasonable. Location is good but from what i hear Sabaii Lodge is has much nicer rooms. Cheers, B-Man!

Any info on Bar 12:00 closing?
cbrib replied to Changman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Supposed to have a vote on the subject on the 6th of feb. General consensus from the higher ups is that the paper the idea is printed on will be properly flushed down the toilet. We shall see though, stranger things have happened. If they do go ahead with it about 6 months of Pattaya being a ghost town ( not that isn't alot like low season already) they will reconsider. The bird flu may also help them flush the idea as that may be already changing some peoples immediate travel plans. 1 bahts worth. B-Man! -
Arriving at midnight you'll have to take a cab or thai limo. Do not take offers from inside the terminal, there will be offers outside that will be cheaper. Cab will run about 1200-1500b and Thai limo will run about 1700 be sure to negotiate the cost of the tolls into the price. Or take a taxi into bkk or a hotel near the airport. You can then catch a bus from either ekkamai or mo chit. Good luck. B-Man!

I would recommend you make a reservation, you can always change hotels for a different location or better deal somehwhere else. Feb is a busy time with the chinese new year lots of people that work in asia get time off. 2002 i was at the Haven when they broke ground on the Sandy Spring, at 7:00 am right outside my window litereally. I went to about 10 different hotels looking for a room before i got one at the Eastinny Inn ( soi 8 ) and i even had to wait one day for that one to open up. Good luck, B-Man!

AA Pattaya Residence - Any Good ??
cbrib replied to stoace's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
If you think the rooms in the AA Residence are getting old you haven't been to the Haven!! AA is fairly new about 3 years. No view now they built the condo right next door. Never had any CC problem there and the staff was good. Rooms comfortable for 700 baht not a bad deal as soi 13 is a great location. Try the Sandy Spring for a view and newer as well as the new Dynasty. Hope this helps. Cheers, B-Man! -
Beware of the ghost in one of the rooms. I heard a rumor that there was one and this person sweared by it. No names but i'll ask anonomously to the one that saw beetlejuice, did you take him with you or is he still there?? B-Man!

If you had a good time in June you'll have a good time again now. Things are quiet but girls are hungry. Plenty to go around so don't worry. Cheers, B-Man!

Alos minibus pick up is available from your hotel in Pattaya to the airport for 200b. Cheers, B-Man!

On my way i had the same experience with the trays. Cathay was supposedly the #1 rated airline but i have no idea why. Korean is very decent but i prefer EVA Evergreen. Took China once and was very mediocre. 1 1/2 Satangs worth. Cheers, B-Man!

Lots of construction going on now at Yensabaii. Depending on where your room is it may or may not be a problem. All the rooms are different and have been done up by the individual owners. They all seem to be comfortable enough, some may even have UBC. As far as saftey goes the building itself is safe but the soi leading to it can be questionable for two reasons; 1: getting runover by motorbikes, there are no real sidewalks 2: late at night the gay crowd falling out from gogo's there are usually pretty drunk and can get a bit out of line. I just pay the 20b for a motor taxi and not deal

Work Permit is not a carte blanche liscence to do what ever you like in your place of business. There are jobs Thai's should be doing and if they are not doing them and you can not provide proof that you have someone to do it you have a problem. With a beer bar you have someone to open the bar and clean up. You have staff serving and making drinnks. There is no reason to actually do anything you can get caught for, i have the security guy on my soi handle certain things for next to nill money. Beer bars are not gold mines but you can get reamed on taxes if you are not careful. Better to stay l

Most of the items listed in the expense list are one time purchases. Most of those usually come with the bar when you buy. Company and work permit in a beer bar really is not necessary. Items like tissue, salt, pepper, sugar, friut and garnishes are very cheap. Occasionally you may need to replace a few broken glasses ( which the staff pays for if they break) How often you do you need to buy a new cutting board or new knives? The toilets in many beer bar areas are pay per piss, usualy 3-5 baht. Very few complexes are on a dj system where you would have to pay for music.. Think about just s

Also looked at the rooms. One thing i noticed was lack of wardrobe space if you are bringing alot of stuff and a little run down.Price and location are very good. No long term commitment required so may oay to give it a try for a few weeks or a month deopending on how long you are staying. Cheers, B-Man!

The bar Splinter is talking about is part of a league that usually plays every Tuesday and Thursday, Pleasure Dome, and the Londoner are on soi Post Office, not sure which other bars are inb the league right now but either can give you information. If there is no league the girls are pretty good and fun to hang with. Hope this helps. Cheers, B-Man!

NNH, i know the bar you are talking about. There are a few hotties in there at the moment. Soi Happy is kind of like Walking St Junior for ppl watching. All the gals from the beer bars on the soi as well as the Happy girls coming and going from their St's. Look at it this way, i am on the way to your friends bar and on the way back!! ;D. Look forward to meeting up with you on your next visit. Cheers , B-Man!

For you Cheap Charlies i may start something like drink coupons..... buy 4 and get the 5th one free LOL Nidnoyham, nice to see you don't start in the toilet, do you ever end any nights there ??? Party with me and you might ! Are you talking about the Horn Bar? I have been in there a few times, pays to be a little closer to the toilet. Fishingtime, I will make a post once the bar is open talking about all the things i went through from starting to l

I have just made the purchase of a beer bar. I will in time put up a post in a few parts on looking, legalities, and the whole experience. The location is right ( soi happy) and the bar will be redone to meet if not surpass ( hopefully) the looks of the neighboring bars. I got into it with the hopes that it might overall provide a living here and give me the chance to take a year off from the States. If it doesn't make it i can afford to stay for a year anyways and always can sell and go back to work in the U.S. I bought an opportunity but also valuable time away so i am ahead either way. Som

Fishingtime i believe you are absolutely right!! There is a very clear and present danger here in Pattaya. You should definitely head for safer ground in Bkk and Phuket. Those of us stuck here in the danger zone will do our best to make up for your absence. Cheers, B-man!

Soi 7, the best seat IMHO on Cathay is the emergency exit bulk head. Only 2 seats and the other is for the flight attendant. Once the plane takes off the attemdant leaves you doesn't come back until the plane is going to land. Cheers, B-Man!

Checked Expedia yesterday, looks like they sold all the seats offered at that price. At least for the dates i was looking at. Anyone got the heads up on the restrictions? B-Man!
